“DO NOT DO THIS TO YOURSELF”
Hotel Alion- Durres! If I was able to give -2 stars I would have, the only thing I liked in the hotel was the friendly and really helpful staff (most of them at least as it will show in my review)-the cleaners, the restaurant staff, the receptionists, thank you all, my only star goes to you! Everything else about the hotel was reminding me of a hostel or a mid AirBnb. When our room was cleaned and we went in it, the door locker didn’t work, we couldn’t even close our door, the receptionist lady did something in the locker and fixed it. At first glamce our room looked okay, but as time passed we started noticing things, the hair dryer didn’t work, the walls had strange stains and black lines as from moving subjects around the room who had hit the walls. The AC was great, and the bathroom (room303) was spacious and had good warm water. Firstly we thought that our bed sheets were replaced every day, but I suspect that they only folded them again, because one night i dropped chocolate on my sheets and the next day the “new ones” they had given me had the same small brown spots, I really hope they didn’t do that with our towels too. The restaurant offers a good menu, but we had payed for breakfast and dinner that do not include items from the menu, which is normal for hotel policies with a buffet, but our buffet was awful. It was like a cheap free school buffet in a small town. Each night you had 4 main dishes to choose from which sounds kind of okay but not for a 4 star hotel, or when the dishes were almost the same- the first night we had to choose from 3 types of eggplant dishes or a tomatoes and mussels dish. It was a personal nightmare for me since I don’t eat eggplant and cooked tomatoes. They offer a bunch of salads but they are the same everyday. A few nights they offered mac and cheese that was really sour in taste, both nights it tasted like rotten feta cheese. Two nights they offered chicken in cream sauce but the chicken was really dry and hard to swallow, the second time it was swimming in black pepper. The desserts were also the exact same everyday night 3 types- some milky cream, a cake drunken in milk (which was good), and watermelon, sadly they decorated them with the cheapest chocolate topping I think most of you know what taste I am talking about and it ruined the whole taste of the desserts, one night the desserts ended before everyone could get something and they chopped croissants in small pieces and once again drowned them in the said topping. I can go on but have other things to cover- overall the food choice was poor, and they use the cheapest products on the markets which obviously affects the taste. The beach- the water is dirty(not the hotel’s fault just saying that if you are looking for the clear waters of Albania, Durres is not the place) , the beds they provide look nice from distance but the closer you get the dirtier you see they are- they have stains and dripped curtains. Both me and my boyfriend got sick with some virus I think either because of the food or the dirtiness, when I got it I was vomitting for a whole day and couldn’t stand up, when he got it it was night and he spend the whole night having stomach issues, fever, diarrea. He had it souch worse than me. Once he hardly fell asleep and the moment he did he woke up couldnt make it to the bathroom and threw up on the floor, I asked the reception to clean it and to give us a bucket so it doesn’t happen again on the floor and he has something by his bed if it hits him again, they said they didn’t have anything to give me?! but at least a cleaner came and cleaned it, guess what….a few minutes later it happened again, it was on the floor, the smell was all over the room I felt so sick of it I gagged and later on vomited too. This time I felt sorry for the cleaner so I asked for the mop and bucket and cleaned it up myself, I went straight to a manager and insisted on a bucket, then he somehow magically found one, I was genuinely mad because this whole thing happening again could have been avoided. The next day we spent laying in bed since we were up all night and when he felt better we went outside for a walk and asked to have our room cleaned, have new toilet paper, and our towels and sheets changed to avoid getting the virus somehow again. We ce back an hour and a half later and nothing was done….we were tired already and wanted to go to sleep but we couldn’t and we had to wait for them to clean up, my boyfriend talked to the receptionist again, and we waited in the restaurant. When we went in our room, they had put only one sheet on the two beds, given us only one (as big as for one person) blanket for the night, they hadnt changed the pillow cases, hadn’t given us toilet paper and had taken our towels but hadn’t given us new ones, at this point I was so so tired I could go once again to the reception and talk with them for a numerous time, I myself went to the cleaners room, there was no one, but there were pillow cases and toilet paper that a took myself, I would never normally do this and I know where not to go when I am in a hotel but I had no choice anymore. The next morning before we left, we had to shower and use our beach towels to clean ourselves, I don’t wanna talk about how I was feeling about that. I have no idea how such a hotel has 4 stars and how all the other reviews are so good….I talked with other guests we shared the same experience…I think they might be deleting their negative reviews…I will try my best for mine not to be deleted, and If I notice so I will be looking for my rights as a user to give my review freely and as a person for free speech.

“Worth visiting”
We stayed here for 5 days and had a great experience. The breakfast was really good, the hotel was very clean, and the housekeeping staff kept our room spotless every day. The staff were all friendly, but Laura especially stood out. She was always welcoming, helpful, and made us feel at home. She truly deserves a promotion! We would definitely stay here again.

“Alion hotel durres”
This has truly been the best hotel experience ever. Everything here is amazing — the staff are incredibly kind, caring, and attentive. The service is outstanding, and they genuinely make you feel welcome and taken care of. The beautiful restaurant with its stunning view makes the experience even more special. Everything is simply perfect. I was extremely satisfied with my stay and would come back here a hundred times without hesitation. This place feels like a little paradise. The people here are so warm, friendly, and thoughtful that I honestly don’t have enough words to describe how wonderful they are. Thank you for making my stay unforgettable. ❤️

“Pleasant stay”
Spacious rooms. I stayed in the French balcony sea view room. The only thing I would say is the wet room style bathroom wasn’t ideal. Location wise it’s good. Right on the beach front with plenty of shops and restaurants close by within walking distance. It’s on the back streets away from the main road. The food was ok. The meat was a little over cooked though.
