“First time in Albania”
I went on holiday with my friend first time to Albania . We choose Durres as its not too far from the airport and has a beach as well . The hotel was a bonus coz it was in front on the beach right in the promenade . The hotel is very nice , despite we had a room at the back with no balcony and with just a window to the back of the other hotel . But it was all very clean , the room was good for two people and the toilet it was imaculate . The hotel grounds are very well kept and the pool area are very nice . Overhaul is a very good hotel in the right place The only downside to this hotel is the food . Not many variety , the food was cold , there was no information on what was the food and if you have small children there’s nothing for them . Just cold chips . At breakfast there was not many choices and there was no toaster and we had to cut the bread so everyone touch the bread which is not very good . The good thing was the coffee . I think it’s a very good hotel , very clean , good staff but the food needs work . They have loads of space they can use to have more choices specially for the little ones .

“Very average hotel at best, definite room for improvement!”
Here is my honest appraisal and review of my three night stay at Hotel Bleart in the city of Durres, Albania. I have left multiple reviews on TripAdvisor and I pride myself on my impartiality and truthfulness, so hopefully this review will help someone when they are making a decision on where to stay in Durres. Hotel Bleart in my opinion, following my stay, is a mid level three star hotel, trying to masquerase as a 4 star hotel. As someone who has travelled all over the world and stayed in lots of hotels, I have a good idea of what good looks like, and this is a very average hotel. My flight arrived just before midnight local time at Nene Teresa Tirana International Airport, and my transfer took a while to collect all the passengers, before leaving the airport until just after 1am. After the driver dropped off the first set of tourists, my stop was next, and I was dropped off at Hotel Bleart. It was just before 2am, and check in was a breeze. I had to pay €6 euros for city tax (pretty standard affair in most hotels nowadays) and I paid in cash as I had some spare euros on me. The albanian currency is "lek". I gave €10 euros but the gentleman at the front of house didnt have enough change, so he only gave me €2 euros back. No big deal, I guess, I didnt make a fuss about it. The printer was broken, so he couldnt scan my passport so he proceeded to take a picture of the ID page in my passport with his personal smartphone. So much for data protection, eh? Due to him being by himself at the front of house, I was escorted to the lift, and left to make my way to my room (#501) on the the 6th floor. The room was very spacious, and so was the bathroom, but unfortunately, I noticed the following: - Room door didn't lock properly from the inside, which is a security risk. During the night, I left my suitcase by the front door to my room as a precautionary measure while I slept, in case anyone tried to enter, i would hear the noise of the suitcase being knocked over. - The cupboard where the fridge was kept had broken hinges (see my photos) and so didnt close properly. On top of that, the fridge wasn't working anyway. - Room phone didn't work - Peephole on the inside of the room door was was covered by a plaster. Very unprofessional and not a good look at all - Wi-Fi was flaky and intermittent in the room - Shower cubicle didn't drain the water properly, so when I showered, the water would collect and pool around the drain until I finished showering and then the water would slowly evaporate away into the drain. They definitely need to get a plumber to fix it. My board was breakfast only, so I had a light blue wristband. All inclusive guests or full board guests had a different colour wristband, I think it was a dark pink colour. Breakfast was very limited and repetitive. I had pancakes for each day of my stay, with a glass of juice, and some apples. Croissants were available, along with hot and cold meats, and hot beverages, but yeah, the breakfast spread could have been a lot better in my opinion. On the last day of my stay, I took a day trip to Tirana (only 35 mins away by car with no traffic). I wanted to iron a t-shirt, went to reception/front of house for an iron, was given one my the same gentleman that checked me in on my arrival at the beginning of my stay (he managed to retrieve one from the back room) I went upstairs to my room with the iron, and plugged it in, only to realise that the knobs/levers that are used for regulating the temperature were not present on the iron, so the iron wouldn't warm up. Something simple like providing a working iron shouldnt be an issue at a supposed 4 star hotel. There are some positives though: - location of the hotel is good for beach access - staff are generally very hospitable and friendly, especially the restaurant staff, who were very hard working and always with a smile on their faces. - very spacious room and bathroom, you definitely wont feel squeezed in - beautiful outdoor swimming pool area with plenty of sun loungers (it was officially the start of the low season, so the pool area wasnt busy at all) - evening entertainment was good, I had the privilege of watching fire eaters one night. - close enough to Tirana to do a day trip and return before the evening. Overall, a decent stay, Albania is a beautiful country, not yet quite at the level of neighbouring Greece or Montenegro, but its worth visiting, I for sure would definitely come back to Albania. The Albanian people were warm and friendly, and I felt safe at all times. In terms of the hotel, it has plenty of potential, and with the right investment and modernisation, it can definitely become a genuine 4 star hotel, but for now its a mid tier 3 star at best. It will suffice for a 2 or 3 night stay, but if you are staying for longer in Durres, I would consider alternative accomodation arrangements. Food/Breakfast - 3/5 Location - 3.75/5 Hospitality - 4/5 Property/Room condition - 3/5 Functionality of amenities and appliances 2/5

“I do not recommend it”
We arrived as a group of friends for a six-night stay, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the experience. Service in the dining area was extremely poor; the food was cold and unlabeled, and the staff seemed unhappy about having to serve guests. After we complained about the cold and poorly served food, the staff blamed their equipment and simply placed a microwave next to the buffet—yet the food continued to be served cold and stale. The hotel beach wasn't set up; sunbeds and umbrellas weren't put out, even though temperatures reached 30°C. There was no evening entertainment, and the spa facilities were unavailable. On the plus side, the rooms were spacious with comfortable beds, housekeeping was good, and the hotel is located right by the beach. Unfortunately, I would rate it a weak 3 stars; management still has a lot of work to do regarding customer service. I might return to Albania, but not to this hotel—I do not recommend it.

“A lovely hotel and location.”
Albania exceeded all of our expectations. The seaside town is beautiful, with stunning beaches and a wonderful atmosphere. Hotel Bleart was fantastic throughout our stay. The hotel was comfortable, impeccably clean, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job every day, ensuring our room was spotless and well maintained. The reception team were always friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was outstanding, with a great variety available each day. There was always plenty of choice, and we never felt rushed during meals, allowing us to relax and enjoy the dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Hotel Bleart to anyone visiting the area. We will definitely be returning in the future! Lucy B
