    Florida weather August

What's the weather like in Florida in August?

Sitting in the southeast of the United States, Florida’s the divide between the North Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. The Sunshine State’s location gives it a tropical climate in the south while the north is subtropical. This means temperatures are high all year round with August being one of the hottest months for Florida holidays. It’s also one of the wettest however the rain usually comes in short downpours or thunderstorms followed by clear blue skies.

The average high in Miami’s 31ºC in August. Things stay lovely and warm in the evenings with temperatures only falling to 25ºC, meaning you don't need to bring along many warm clothes. A waterproof jacket’s a good idea as there’s 160mm of rain over 15 days, although you can still expect nine hours of sunshine each day from the 13 hours of daylight. The sea temperature’s 30ºC, which is perfect for swimming, while humidity’s very high. Protect yourself in the sun as UV levels will be extremely high. Sunset is usually around 8pm.
