    What’s the weather like in Rome in January?

    Rome is a beautiful city in Italy that enjoys a lovely Mediterranean climate. Rome weather in January can be quite cold at times because it’s the coolest month of the year. There are fewer crowds in the city, which is great if you don’t feel like standing in a long queue to see the Coliseum or the Vatican.

    Geographical influences

    Rome is near the western coast of Italy and has cool winters with some rain scattered throughout the season. January is very cold, so make sure to pack plenty of layers to stay warm. Rome tends to be cooler than the south of Italy, especially in winter when temperatures are low and winds are quite strong.
