What’s the weather like in Whistler in March?
You’ll still need warm winter layers this month and the ski runs will have fresh snow most days. The Whistler weather in March really improves on the cold winter temperatures and it should be a few degrees above zero much of the time. It’s perfect for some Easter fun on the slopes.
Geographical influences
Whistler is a world famous ski resort, in British Colombia in south west Canada. Along with the neighbouring resort of Blackcomb it’s found in the Coast Mountain range. The Pacific Ocean air helps to stop temperatures falling too low in winter and spring. Conditions are six to seven degrees colder on the higher slopes than in the valleys.
Averages
The weather in Whistler in March is still ideal for skiing and winter sports. The average daytime temperature will peak at highs of 6°C. The average night time level will be chilly though, at around -5°C. The sunshine’s very pleasant in March in this idyllic skiing spot. There’s an average of five hours each day from 12 hours of daylight and the sun doesn’t set until 6pm for much of the month. The rainfall’s over 100mm here in Canada, but much of this will be wintery showers. The wind speed is low, like it is most of the year, at around 5mph and the humidity should measure 93%.
