The weather does vary in Montreal in May, so you should pack for wet, warm and cold weather to be safe.

In May, the average temperature in Montreal is a mild 14ºC, reaching highs of 19ºC in the warmest part of the afternoon. Although you should be comfortable in a t-shirt while you’re exploring the city during the day, you’ll need some thicker layers for evenings out, with temperatures dropping to a brisk 8ºC after the sun goes down. Around 70mm of rain’s expected in May, so it’s a good idea to bring a waterproof jacket or umbrella if you visit Montreal this month.
