What's the weather like in Montreal in April?
Montreal is a vibrant city in the east of Canada, not far from the country’s border with the United States. It has a humid continental climate which brings warm summers and bitterly cold winters to this part of Quebec. Temperatures finally rise above freezing in April, and things start to feel more like spring in the city. It’s still a chilly month, though, so you’ll need to bring plenty of warm layers if you visit Montreal at this time.
Averages
The average temperature in Montreal is a brisk 6ºC in April, reaching highs of 11ºC in the warmest part of the day. At 1ºC, the average low is a touch above freezing, but you’ll still need lots of really warm clothes, including a thick winter coat, a hat, scarf and gloves. There’s wet weather on half of the days in April, and with 80mm forecast for the month in total, it’s worth bringing a waterproof or umbrella.
