Temple Of Apollo in Bodrum

The huge, white marble temple was built with 120 giant columns, tunnels and a sacred spring, which the ruins still remain on the site today.

Legend has it that a priest would drink from the spring before giving an oracular announcement and because of this, some believe that the water contained hallucinogenic qualities that would induce a hypnotic state to the drinker. The temple was said to be similar to the temple at Ephesus and holds equal importance to the time period.
