“Great stay”

Had a great stay in late September. The rooms were clean, beds were soft and huge to sleep in. Meals were good quality and always lots of it, with free soft drinks and beer tap at lunch and dinner. Pools were great and lots of sun loungers. There isnt lots to do in the area but its nice for a relaxing break by the pool.

“The trip”

Would’ve been better if the Hotel had a shuttle that taken straight there as getting there is quite difficult on public transport but other than that the food was fantastic The service provided from the reception was amazing helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and was cleaned. Every day cleaned towels were provided every day so yeah I couldn’t really criticise anything about this Hotel other than the location which if they had a shuttle it would be definitely five star in my opinion.

“One to avoid”

Let's start with the pleasantries - the room was clean tidy, and the bed was fabulous - that's it - there is nothing else I can say nice about this hotel. The food was cold (at every sitting) the only hot food I had, was toast at breakfast, but then I done that myself. The food was very disappointing, the service also was very disappointing - not once did we see any of the bar or restaurant staff smile. After a spot of rain, we asked the staff at the pool bar if we could wipe the chairs down due to the chairs being wet, only to be met with rolled back eyes. We had the "All Inclusive" package, because if we wanted a snack, or a drink, then it was available, or should be available. Due to rain, one afternoon, they shut down the pool bar. There was nowhere to be able to obtain a drink - I complained to reception, and was told that they decided to open the upstairs bar an hour earlier than normal (19.00) but that still left no drinks available for a couple of hours - not good enough when you've paid for an AI service. The staff, could not cope or handle the customers when it rains - there are no contingency plan if it rains. The animation team just sat around talking - they could have organized games, or quizes when the rain occurred. Over all I was very very disappointed with this hotel. It's location was very remote, but that's not the staff's fault, but it would have been nice to feel welcome. All in all, avoid, avoid, avoid.

“Relaxing....”

This hotel was so relaxing and peaceful... just what we wanted. Reception staff were very helpful and kind. The rooms are lovely especially the pool rooms they are spacious, comfortable beds,modern, great showers lovely terrace with sun beds and led straight onto the pool. The pools were amazing!! The restaurant was bright and modern the food was amazing at each mealtime the staff work so hard. The drinks at the bar were very nice lovely quality but for me the pool bar could be open later so you have the option of more bars or reopen the breeze bar but I wouldn't knock the hotel down for that. Also what would be fabulous is a mini market for items you forget or run out of because there are no supermarkets near by... we were given late checkout for 2 rooms which was lovely of the hotel to do with having a late flight... Take a walk out to the mar menor it's a lovely walk along the prom with great views of la Manga. Thank you Occidental Mar Menor for a lovely stay.
