Where do I even start. Hotel staff were rude and spoke very little English. Our room was tiny and wasn't cleaned when we checked in, the floors were dirty. There was also no towels. The whole room smelled of sewers and no amount of air freshener would mask the smell. We complained about the smell and nothing was done. Every morning when they 'cleaned' the room they would take the towels and not leave new ones. The hotel is right beside the train station which is full of drunks, homeless and druggies right out in the square in front of the hotel. The pool was filthy, you would'nt even wash a dog in the water. There was also sewage coming up from the drain right beside the kids pool which smelled horrible. We also seen a rat near the pool one evening. We weren't the only ones who said they would never be back.

Cheap but not so cheerful

Friendly staff and great updated room but this is where the good news ends. Hotel is not in a desirable area, a lot of local drunks hanging about. Swimming pool was filthy, not enough sunbeds and management allowed beds to be reserved by towels so nearly impossible to get a sunbed. Food is not good even for a three star. Twice the so called beef was actually liver. Very boring and very little imagination put into the food. Entertainment did not happen for 5 days and when it did start it was worse than none!. The beach hut was useful but wouldn't call it a beach club. The beach it's self was lovely and relaxing away from dirty pool. Evening snacks was dry bread spam and cheese for seven days. I can honestly say we won't be returning.

We booked this hotel after deciding to stay in malgrat for an extra week and this was the cheapest that I could find. I didn't look at the reviews before booking ( it was late and I was drunk !) And so when I woke up in the morning I read the reviews and was concerned about what we would find there. When we arrived there were still builders working and that continued throughout the stay and it was not any issue atall! The staff that welcomed us were very helpful and friendly. We were able to check in early, I think as it was quiet at the time. We went up to our room and there were some builder men just checking a few final things and then once the cleaning lady had given it a quick sweep we were in! I was shocked at how lovely the room looked ! It was very clean, spacious and light. We had a sea view room above the train tracks and the view was lovely. Everything was very clean and updated in the room. The mattress was the most comfortable I've had in a Spanish hotel. The aircon was great, fully adjustable temperature so you can find the right temperature for yourself. Remember the doors have to be closed for the air con to turn on! The pool area is fairly nice basic pool area. I didn't spend much time in the pool but I don't think that the sun would reach it for long as the pool is blocked in by 4 walls of hotel. This didn't bother me too much personally. My biggest complaint about the hotel is that we woke up in the morning (around 11 am) to find that the door had been opened, and left open, whilt we were asleep! I'm not sure who did this as we had the 'do not disturb' sign outside the door. It was very concerning to wake up to find the door that you had locked has been opened and left for anyone to walk in. The lifts really could do with updating as they were actually quite scary and felt as though they could just crumble apart any minute! Overall a it was a good stay, I was very happy with the room and would happily stay at this hotel in the future ☺️
