“Style over substance”

This is the type of hotel that my mum would call fur coat and no knickers. The first impressions we got of the hotel was wow, stunning. Clean, luxurious, amazing location, friendly staff. The room was lovely, we had the best view, fabulous facilities and super check in, and let us check in early..it all looked very modern. We went to see the roof pool and was very disappointed, it was more like a bath with loads of old people sat round it. Absolutely no shade from the sun at all. The bar was nothing exciting and quite expensive. We checked out the the other pool, which was weird. Looked like it was some sort of ornamental pool instead of a swimming pool..no sun or atmosphere. We had tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a fridge which we thought was fab. But they'd not replenished the tea and coffee. So we went to ask them to do so at reception to be told it's not free and we have to buy it. I laughed at first as I thought they were joking. But the very rude receptionist was serious. So I asked him how much for coffee pods and it was €1 a pod. So I said we will have 2, he huffed and went to get them and I said oh could we have milk too. He said we don't do milk. I said well what's the point in the coffee then, don't bother. So we left it. Breakfast was as absolutely chaotic. Tables were rammed in and it was like going through a maze trying to get back to your table. They weren't being cleaned fast enough so was hard to navigate to one that was empty. Coffee machines were so slow and they ended up packing up so only 2 working in the end, so the queues were huge. The hotel has such potential but they're spending money on silly robots to clean and carry trays instead of actual staff.

“Not for the Disabled”

Currently staying here till Sunday. Always stayed the Esmerelda Apartment for nearly 40 yrs but thought because of my disabilities and being in a wheelchair with paraplegia and recovering Cancer operation it would be easier to stay at a hotel closer to the amenities in the town. Never again is all I can say my stay here has completely ruined my holiday and the reception staff are not bothered. The room I booked was a standard twin for my husband and myself. All the photographs on booking .com were of a room with a view well boy down d I get one. Terrace not balcony. Overlooking a residential block above a noisy busy road with fumes. Not very good when you have respiratory problems. So we had to have doors and curtains closed at all times so very dark. Disabled access in and out of the building is very tight and because of the door not holding open on its own and the ramp is very small and steep with a lip on the ramp it requires the help of two people to assist you, so your independence is limited. Such a shame as it is in a prime location

Great hotel, minutes from the Beach. We have stayed here 3 times on a bed and breakfast basis and would recommend to others. Good location, great breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms.

“October visit”

This hotel at first glance appears to be a lovely place to stay staff and lovely and very helpful.. In February we stayed there and found everything perfect so much so we planned another trip in October. We arrived to beautiful sunshine beautiful view from our room, all was going well until a couple moved in next door with dogs ... I have no problem with dogs but these dogs were abandoned for hours on there own howling and scratching at the doors upsetting everyone around. The owners had stuffed pillows all around the balcony so the dogs couldn't fall out... There was a quilt left over the balcony drying from where one of the dogs had done something on it ... If the dogs needed to wee it would have ran into the pillows on the balcony.... Now I don't know but I personally wouldn't like to be sleeping on the pillows after that no matter how much they were cleaned.... This has put me off completely returning to the hotel even though it is a nice place... The hotel is a bit dated could do with moderation a few more sockets and so on... The bathroom had ants on the floor... The breakfast was just ok. Overall in my opinion this hotel needs to change before I would return.

“HOTEL FAILED MASSIVELY AND ENDED UP SLEEPING IN CAR OUTSIDE HOTEL”

I booked and paid for my stay here via Booking.Com, I arrived at the hotel and tried to check in but was refused as the hotel said they did not have my reservation. I showed them my confirmation together with my receipt of my payment. Still they refused. They asked us to wait an hour which we did. We returned to reception and they still told me they did not have the reservation. I suggested that I could forward my email to them from booking.com to which the receptionist said “that’s a good idea”. I did this as thought this would help and they could then take it up their end. Within 10 minutes they then said they have to wait for the booking to drop into their computer system. All in all we waited in the hotel for over 3 hours !!! They refused us to check in even though I had given them the booking confirmation and the payment receipt to show that I had paid. They flately refused we were not checking in because the booking was not in THEIR system. I made several phone calls to booking.com on loud speaker so they could hear the call at the desk and heard them say that they confirmed that I had a booking with them but hotel still refused. With the amount of hours we were there, it left us with no choice but to sleep in the car outside the hotel as it was then too late to find somewhere else. I have had a major back operation where I had broken vertebrae’s and still recovering and I told the hotel this and they really just didn’t care, yet despite them having my booking confirmation and receipt of my payment they still had no care of my wellbeing so we basically had to sleep in the car outside the hotel that we had paid for. They had no customer service or care whatsoever as they could see I had my booking. I stressed this to them and then I was advised that we could be “scammers” - REALLY ???? Showed them all my information but still no check in. Spent the night in the car and ended up having to call the police as the hotel initially refused to give me the Government Complaint Form and tried to give me THEIR OWN FORM which is useless and not enforceable. Police arrived very quickly and showed them all my reservation details. They made the hotel get me the official form and was very helpful. My tip for this hotel is avoid as if they can’t find your booking then you will be made to sleep in a car if you have one or out on a bench in the street.
