“Family trip to Madiera”

This is a lovely hotel. The staff were wonderful from the moment we arrived. Sometimes it is the little things that can make a big difference. Our transfer got us to the hotel late in the evening after the resaurants had closed but Zita on reception had arranged for 3 picnic boxes to be made up so we would have something to eat. The buffet restaurant did become a little samey over the week but option to eat in the al a carte restaurants made up for this. Late October was a perfect time to visit as the days were still warm enough for us to go in the pool or the sea each day. The hotel was also quiet enough that loungers near the pool etc were always available.

“Beautiful hotel”

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was lovely the buffet was good and the 2 restaurants which you can use as part of your all inclusive package where great. Not all items on the menus are included as part of your package, but you can order anything you want and you only pay the difference between the all inc price and the item price. The bar served branded spirits and there is even a self service area for beer, wine and soda. The entertainment was ok. I think October is a great time to go, as it wasn't to busy.

“Room 104”

Hotel is very nice and staff are very pleasant. Issue is it’s quite remote, with very little around. Food was very poor, if it wasn’t cold it was look warm. Basically cater for German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. Children were allowed to run around the restaurant, accident waiting to happen. Themed nights in restaurant every night, if you didn’t like it you went hungry. I will not be returning to this hotel.

“Nice hotel but food disappointed”

The hotel was very nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is quite remote so expensive to get about using taxis. Room was nice with sea view. Have to pay for sun beds on the beach! Nice pool. Hotel provided a shuttle bus to Funchal at a cost of 33 euros each return. The only disappointment was the food. Very rarely hot and the buffet restaurant had a themed night every night and if you didn't like the food then you went hungry. The beach restaurant was very good, was the only meal we enjoyed all week. The other restaurant you can book twice is the Onda Azul but the food was so bad, so went hungry that night. There is a supermarket and pharmacy opposite the hotel which was very handy. I would not book here again.

“Great stay”

Came for a week in September. Lovely hotel. Our room was clean and we had a nice sea view. Bed is big, which was appreciated. Only gripe I had was that there was no slippers or dressing gowns, you can have these but have to upgrade to premium AI. However not too much of a problem. Pool area was great, with pool bar and lots of seating areas in the shade. Never had to worry about getting a sun lounger, regardless of time of day and plenty of parasols. Pool staff were polite as were all staff and cocktails really nice. I loved the food here and im a vegetarian and my partner is not, but we had loads of choice every meal time and snacks in between. Hotel is situated near a man made beach and the sea here is calm and warm to swim in. Entertainment was plentiful, and typical holiday stuff. Rooms are cleaned everyday as well. All in all a fantastic stay, very relaxing
