Atlantica Waterpark near Agadir
When you go on holiday with the kids in tow, you'll want to know that there is plenty to keep them busy. When it comes to holidays to Agadir, it's easy enough to spend the whole time on the beach; after all, there's a 10km stretch with lots of room for sandcastles! But when you feel like a change of scenery, then a trip to an Agadir waterpark is in order. It's a fun day out for the little ones, and grown-ups will love to unleash their inner child, too. Beyond the beaches in Agadir, you'll find a fantastic waterpark within easy reach. And you'll all have great fun splashing around in the swimming pools and riding the swirling slides all day long.
Make your way to Atlantica Park
Just along the coastline from the heart of Agadir (in Imi Ouaddar), you'll discover Atlantica Park. This family-friendly campsite is situated on the coast, and it's also home to a colourful waterpark that'll keep the kids busy for hours on end. It's generally thought of as one of the best in Morocco, and is a great alternative from the beach.
You'll find a huge swimming pool here that's great for kids and adults alike; when you feel like cooling off from the hot sunshine, you won't be able to resist jumping in. There's also a superb selection of waterslides to choose from ranging from small to big, and they all end up in the plunge pool.
There's also a separate pool for young children, complete with kid-friendly toys to play with. Meanwhile, on the poolside, you'll find lots of sunloungers where you can top up your tan.
You'll also find lots of tables here, where you can tuck into your picnic. And there's also a poolside restaurant at hand to serve you a refreshing drink or a bite to eat.
All of the rides and slides are supervised by a team of lifeguards, which is reassuring if you're visiting with little ones.
It's also worth noting that from March to November, the heated indoor swimming pool is a private area for women only. But throughout the winter season, it's open to both sexes.
How do I get there?
Around 30km from Agadir; it'll take you around half an hour to drive up the coastline, and the quickest and easiest way to get there is with a hire car. During the summer, the park is open seven days a week, from 10am to 6pm. You'll want to get there as early as you can to beat the crowds.
Don't forget your sun cream!
When the hot Moroccan sun is shining, paying a visit to an Agadir waterpark is a great way to cool off. But you'll definitely need to bring your sun cream along with you; you'll be outdoors pretty much all day and there isn't much shade at all in the Agadir waterpark although you'll find a few picnic tables with umbrellas. While you won't always feel the heat in the water, that won't stop you from getting sunburnt, so remember to reapply throughout the day
