“average stay at Sea Star Hotel”
I had an average stay at Sea Star Hotel Montenegro. The biggest downside was the lack of blackout curtains in the rooms, which made it difficult to sleep once the sun came up. The service was also inconsistent and didn’t meet the standard I expected from a hotel of this category. Breakfast was another disappointment, with very limited variety and not many appealing options. On the positive side, the hotel’s location is excellent. It’s conveniently situated close to the beach and nearby attractions, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, the location is the hotel’s strongest point, but improvements in room comfort, service, and breakfast quality would make for a much better guest experience.

“A Perfect Birthday Stay at a Beautiful Hotel ✨”
It is a very beautiful place and I liked it a lot. The room was very clean and everything was in order. I celebrated my birthday there and I had a great time. The staff were very polite and respectful and made me very happy with the surprise. The breakfast was perfect and every detail. I recommend visiting this fantastic hotel.

“Fine hotel but not 5* ..”
The location and views from the rooms are stunning - nice furniture, bed super comfortable, terrace was huge. Nice space on the beach for hotel guests. There’s a supermarket a few mins walk and plenty of restaurants. Bus into Budva was easy to navigate and cheap at €2. Taxi prices were variable depending on the driver .. be mindful. It is not a 5* hotel in my opinion. Also, it didn’t seem fully finished in parts .. especially in the public areas - paint above lifts in the lobby’s, the fire exit stairs has electrical wires hanging out and pipe work visible. It’s a small hotel, 88 rooms and opened in 2023. Other parts of the hotel were beautiful - restaurant was nicely decorated, sinks in the rooms etc all good quality. The pool is small and not heated - meaning it was absolutely freezing and couldn’t use comfortably which was a real drawback. Especially as the pool is basically split in half with the hotel next door and their half is heated with a bar! I’m sure it’s ok in the hot summer months. The pool area itself is small, a few Loungers under cover, a small gym but has what you need. It was being used às a play park for 3 kids one evening, staff saw and didn’t say anything.. The wellness area from all I could see was 2 indoor beds .. no actually services on offer. Sauna was great with a Stunning view. Cleanliness of the room and daily room cleaning was not up to scratch for a 5*. On arrival there was someone’s used slipper sticking out from under the bed, long hairs on the floor and sheets were stained with patches of yellow - pressed but stained and a bit off putting. For the daily cleaning there was no consistency - one day our slippers and a robe were removed and not replaced - we asked at reception for new ones and we never received them for the rest of the stay. Bins weren’t emptied despite being overflowing .. had one teaspoon on arrival, when that was taken we had nothing and they were not replaced.. glasses put back without being cleaned etc. Room service food was good and pretty quick. Breakfast was plentiful - tall man whose name began with M was lovely and didn’t stop moving, very attentive. Duomo Italian was nice service and food! We wouldn’t stay again as for the price paid we expected more from a 5* hotel but it was nice enough, certainly didn’t detract from a great holiday - just missed some key elements.

“Great hotel with absolutely amazing views”
We had an amazing stay in the family room ("lux") room of the Sea Star. The view is the best I had in any hotel ever, panoramic unobstructed view of the sea and the beach. The room has two double beds and two single beds, separate air conditioning for each room, a kitchen with full size fridge and even dishwasher (but not enough glasses to use it...). The included breakfast was also very good. The staff was very friendly and everything was clean and new. The hotel also has a private beach with beach chairs and towels. The only downside is the parking - we came in the off season so didn't have real problems but I guess during high season parking does become a problem. If push comes to shove, paid parking is available.

“Warm Weather and Pleasant People Equals Great Holiday”
Sea Star Budva I am happy to write a review to describe my stay at the Sea Star Hotel for three nights between the 19th and 22nd September 2025. I travelled with a close friend of mine, and the hotel lived up to its 5 star billing. Upon arrival, the professionalism of the reception staff was clear to see. They were friendly, productive and efficient, always ready to assist with a warm smile. Check in was simple enough, we arrived very early due to getting the first flight out of Gatwick, so our room was not quite ready yet, but we were provided with welcome drinks to sip whilst we waited for it to be ready. The front of house staff were consistently helpful - whether it was booking transport, offering local recommendations or simply greeting guests with true hospitality and understanding. The selection of food at breakfast time was another positive aspect of my stay.. Each morning I was presented with a generous spread of fresh fruits, bread, and hot dishes. One of the best aspects of the hotel is its quick and easy access to the beach. Just a short stroll from the hotel lobby, and you are on the scenic Becici beachfront, which is idea for morning steps or winding down at sunset. The great location makes it perfect for beach lovers who want to catch the rays of the sun and get a nice tan. The rooms were an added bonus, with ample space available in the bathroom, and also to receive guests if you so wish. The balcony had a partial sea view (Room 103) and as my friend and I are football enthusiasts (Soccer for my American friends) we were mightily surprised to find out that the satellite TV in our room showed the LIVE weekend English Premier League fixtures, meaning on Sunday afternoon we could chill out in the room and not have to venture out into the Old Town. Overall, Sea Star Hotel provided a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Anyone visiting Budva, Montenegro, could do a lot worse than this hotel, especially if you are looking for comfort, great service and closeness to the sea. Top Tips/Advice Some of the taxi drivers are unscrupulous. Always let the reception team book you a taxi if you want to go to the Old Town (taxi takes around 15 minutes to get the Old Town versus a 50 minute walk). Getting a taxi back from the Old Town, some taxi drivers change the meter rate to double, so watch out for this scam. If possible try to negotiate a fare before getting in, and if you cant do this then make sure you get in a car where the driver accepts cards. The fare range is between 8 euros and 16 euros. I got stung on one of my taxi trips for 25 euros, which is extortionate for a distance of basically 3 and 3 quarter miles. You have been warned. Gym is small, and is usually quieter after 10am, so bear this in mind if you are into your fitness.
