“Bad start”

The visit started out in a bad way. We arrives after 9pm and found nobody in the reception. After ringing the bell and waiting for about 5 minutes somebody arrived. Check in went smooth and we got our key cards and went to our room only to find that somebody was already occupying the room! This was a bad experience both for us and the one in the room. Back to reception we were given another room. The room was og and had a view to the bay. The location of the hotel is good but the hotel does not look attractive from outside. Most staff are friendly and helpful.Breakfast ok with the possibility of ordering egg of your choice, waffle or pancakes. For dining you need to outside the hotel but there are so many restaurants of all types within walking distance so this is no problem.

“Nice Hotel”

Of course — I’d add Sue as a positive mention near the beginning, as she clearly made a good impression. We stayed at Hotel Argento for five nights and overall had a pleasant stay. The hotel was very clean, our room was excellent, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. A special mention has to go to Sue on reception, who always had a smile and such a happy, friendly personality. She was a pleasure to deal with and really helped create a welcoming atmosphere during our stay. There were, however, a few areas where we felt things could have been improved. On one occasion at the rooftop pool/bar, I felt a little uncomfortable when ordering a drink and ice cream, as the member of staff serving was on her phone at the time. I appreciate that everyone has busy moments, but I felt as though I was inconveniencing her. Breakfast was a little confusing when we first arrived. There was a good choice of hot and cold food, but we weren’t really shown how to order things such as pancakes. We only discovered this on our second day. At busy times, there also seemed to be quite a lot of hustle and bustle, and on one occasion there wasn’t enough hot food available for the number of guests. The main issue for us, however, was an excursion we booked through the hotel. Unfortunately, we weren’t given an itinerary or enough information about how the day would work. We were told to wait at a particular bus stop, but the bus actually left from around 49 feet further up the road. There was nobody there to explain where we should go or which bus to get on, which caused unnecessary confusion. When we arrived at the port, we also had to register separately for the Blue Lagoon, something we hadn’t been told about beforehand. There was then further confusion among the group about boarding the boat and what was happening next. During the trip, we were also asked to get off the boat to go to Gozo, which again wasn’t something we had been expecting. The Blue Lagoon itself was beautiful and the places we visited were lovely, but the lack of clear information made the day much more stressful and confusing than it needed to be. An itinerary and clearer instructions at the start of the excursion would have made a huge difference. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Argento and would recommend the hotel. With a little more organisation at breakfast and, particularly, clearer communication regarding excursions, the experience could be even better. I think the Sue mention makes the review feel more balanced, because you’re recognising good individual service as well as pointing out what could be improved.

“Dated furnishings, clean and great breakfast”

Clean rooms in a location that was close to restaurants, the waterfront and supermarkets. My room had a bath and was quite spacious. The air conditioning was self regulated and operated well. The mini fridge is empty and worked very well for my own purchases as I stayed here 4 nights. The breakfast was included and a large variety is offered, as well as an option to order a variety of cooked options including eggs, pancakes and waffles.

“Good job there was a rooftop Pool”

My husband and I stayed in The Argento hotel for ten nights. Good location. Not much of a view from our room. The hotel is close to shops cafes and bars. It is also very close to the local busses that can virtually take you all over the Island. The hotel is described as 4 star, but in my opinion it is not. Thier website also says there is a lobby bar, there was a bar but not in use during during our stay 5th through to 15 September 2026. The afternoon tea, advertised on thier website was not available. The room was lacklustre, but clean, although there was dust on every surface. We had the room was carpeted, which we thoght was odd, because most all the other rooms we saw, had flooring. The bathroom was clean and towels provided each day along and serviced every day. The breakfast was fairly good and had good selection of hot and cold food and was ok. The only thing that the hotel had going for it was the rooftop pool. Fairly good views, maybe a few more parasols, but very refreshing for a dip after a bit of sun. I wouldn't return to this hotel I would try an alternative accommodation.

“Lovely hotel in a great hotel.”

I visited Malta and stayed at hotel Argento for four days towards the end of August and had a fantastic time. The hotel is generally located just off the Main Street in St. Julian which is a beautiful town. The hotel is tastefully decorated and our room was clean and modern. The beds were comfortable and the room was a good size. We were greeted warmly by the reception staff ( Rocio,Sughey and Lethicia ) and the restaurant staff ( Mary, Gustavo, Reshma,Phebie and Bimal ) were accommodating with our requests. It was a friends birthday and the staff brought her a cake and sang happy birthday at breakfast which was a lovely touch. There was a good choice of breakfast with a cooked option including bacon, eggs, sausages and beans etc and also continental options too. Would definitely stay there again!
