Monte Baldo
Towering above Malcesine is the mighty Monte Baldo mountain, standing at 1,760 metres between the River Adige and Lake Garda. With a variety of landscapes it's a natural oasis for many different plants and animals. Some are difficult to find elsewhere.
You'll hear people referring to the mountain as the ”Garden of Europe'. Its scenery is breathtaking, from its grassy base to its snow-covered peak and as you can imagine the views of Lake Garda from the summit are spectacular. On clear days you can see the whole of the lake.
The easiest way for anyone to reach the top of Monte Baldo is on the Malcesine cableway. It's no ordinary cable car though; the cabin rotates 360 degrees so you can see all the beauty around you. There's a good amount of trails with varying difficulty levels for trekking or walking and it's a great way to get to appreciate the scented flowers and woodland up close.
If you have no fear and the strength to peddle up steep gradients mountain biking is brilliant; you can't beat the views as you descend. Make sure you take your camera to capture the amazing views from up above Lake Garda. Monte Baldo is a must-see attraction.
