When you go somewhere as beautiful as the Amalfi Coast, it's tempting to spend more time sightseeing than relaxing. To make sure you take it easy and savour the view for at least part of your holiday, Amalfi has a grand total of four public beaches. There are also stretches owned by hotels that you can pay to use.
Amalfi's beaches are all pebbly but they're still great for a day by the sea. If you like your beaches to come with everything you could possibly want, head to Marina Grande beside the little harbour. It's the main beach so you'll find places to eat and drink as well as water sports and sun loungers.
Amongst its cobblestone streets and sunny squares, Amalfi has another trick up its sleeve to help you unwind: limoncello. This sweet liqueur is made locally from the huge lemons you'll see for sale on roadside stalls, and it's delicious. Traditionally sipped from a chilled ceramic cup, it's the perfect way to round off your evening meal as you relax and watch the night draw in. Choose a restaurant by the beach or on the main square (Piazza del Duomo) and you'll have plenty to see, too.
