Gloria Maris Hotel & Suites**** is located in Koukla, which is nestled between Agios Sostis and Keri Lake on the Bay of Laganas.
This small resort has a unique location as it is built on the beach facing the island of Marathonissi, the nesting area of the sea turtle Caretta-Caretta.The whole area is surrounded by olive groves and it is ideal for relaxing holidays as there are only a few hotels and self catering units around. Of course Laganas, the busiest resort on Zakynthos island, is only 2Km away!
Spending your holidays at Gloria Maris, you can enjoy a day on the beach or at the pool bar, as well as having a boat trip to Keri Caves and Marathonissi island for turtle spotting!
Later, in the evening, “Komidoro” Restaurant offers you local tastes and “Tropic's” beach bar exotic cocktails. The music at this Caribbean style bar, may keep you awake to see the sun rises from the sea.

“Not worth the money!”

Not worth the money! They invite Influencers to stay at the best rooms. So the impression and standard of the hotel is not as positive as the Influencers give. It is a lot of moskitos and bies at the hotel so we could hardly sit outside at the veranda on the night because of the monkitos or eat at the hotels Restaurant because of the moskitos end bies. The food at the Restaurant is not very impressive. 3 of 4 toilets at the Restaurant-floor was out or order all 3 weeks we stayed there. The 4.th was not cleaned very often. Almost noting left of the beach at the hotel so we could not be there. Mutch trash around the hotels property. Positive: All the staff was very nice and do their best. The rooms was clean and nice every day. The hotels driver was exellent and give us a very good service. We had a lovely boat-trip from the hotel with they own boats with a lovely captein. So the hotel it self is poor but all the staff is lovely. I would give the hotel 2⭐️⭐️ All the staff 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Absolutely disgusting AVOID THIS HOTEL”

Absolutely disgraceful — nothing like the room we booked AVOID THIS HOTEL Our experience at Gloria Maris was absolutely disgraceful, especially as this was supposed to be our honeymoon. We checked in at around 11:00am on Wednesday and were so shocked and disappointed by the condition of the hotel and room that we checked straight back out at around 1:00pm the same afternoon and had to find and move to another hotel. Even before reaching the room, we were extremely disappointed. The lobby was a mess, and getting to our room involved walking up two flights of stairs, past the pool, down a rocky and uneven set of stairs, and across decking that felt unsafe. This was not the arrival or experience we expected for our honeymoon. Then we finally reached the room, which smelt strongly of mould and damp and was absolutely disgusting. It was nothing like the room we believed we had booked online. The final photograph shown in the booking pictures was the room we expected to receive, but the room we were actually given looked completely different. There is absolutely no way we would describe it as a luxury suite. The problems didn’t stop there. The sink was coming away from the wall, the shower was in a disgusting condition, and the bed was advertised as a queen-size bed but was only a double. The sheets and overall cleanliness were also unacceptable. We had no choice but to leave within just two hours of checking in and pay to stay somewhere else. Having travelled for our honeymoon and expecting the accommodation shown in the photographs, this was incredibly disappointing and completely ruined what should have been a special start to our trip. We would avoid this hotel at all costs based on our experience. We have never checked into a hotel and had to check straight back out within two hours before. Absolutely unacceptable.

“Paradise”

We absolutely loved this hotel, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, the rooms and views stunning, we felt we had found paradise and will definitely be returning. Good location, we walked down the short slope to the beach, clear warm water with small sandy beach. We had very good breakfasts, great selection and all fresh, something for everyone. We ate in the restaurant one evening and it was delicious, moussaka and stifado, however, we also walked the 25 minutes walk around to the Laganas Bay and ate in the restaurants there and walked to Cameo Island across the bridge.

“Not cat friendly”

If you love cats don’t go, they forbid feeding of cats on their property. I personally love to feed and stroke the cats when on holiday in Greece so will now not return here for that reason. Cats in Greece have a hard enough life without cruel hotel owners making their life more difficult.

“Waard voor je geld?”

The Golia Maris Hotel is beautifully decorated and has friendly staff. There is a wonderful view and a tasty breakfast. It is a beautiful location. However, I have to admit that the sunbeds by the pool and down by the water are practically falling apart. The curtains in the room were attached with just two screws without wall plugs causing them to fall down. The shower drain is positioned on one side, which isn't right. The showers occasionally run cold. There is mold on the ceiling in certain areas, and there are dirty spots in the shower.
