i have come to this resort in the past. this has been my favourite time so far. not only did the service exceed my expectations but they were very kind and always have your best interest at heart. the entertainment team was my all time favourite. this includes scooby doo, morocha. mini cooper, pokémon, chan chan and all the rest. by the end of my trip i was so sad to leave as i’ve never met such an amazing entertaining entertainment team. i truly have never been so amazing with the entertainment team the dedication they put in is unreal. they constantly check in to make sure ur having a amazing and memerable experience. honestly the best hotel to go to if you’re looking to have a good time.
Amazing hotel with an amazing entertainment team!
I came here for a family vacation and my expectations have been exceeded. Not only is the service amazing but our vacation has been absolutely exceeded with the entertainment team. Morocha, Mini Cooper, Pokémon, Scooby Doo, Chan Chan, Coca Cola, Bombom, Polin and everyone else have been the best team we have ever seen. They make sure to constantly entertain everyone and make sure they are having the best time. Every single one is always so positive and welcoming, we’ve never seen anything like it at any other resort. We honestly do not want to leave at all because of this amazing entertainment team. All of these workers are extremely hard working and you can see the passion and dedication they all put in.
so close to being a great hotel
The overall experience was good, but I'm not sure this really qualifies as a 5 star hotel right now. Sure they have very good swimming pools, albeit a bit dated, the rooms are decent and clean, but again in need of a refurbishment. They've done a great deal to tick the boxes but on closer inspection there are problems. The gym is really a small selection of weights with a couple of benches and some old machines that need to be updated. The climbing wall is a novelty idea and could have been more of a pull but for it's location on the beach where it was always windy. The entertainments team is very good, always friendly and definitely a positive, but on occasions we did have to chase up for things like the planned events on the day. Volleyball - on occasion there was no ball. No football. 10 pin bowling and pool were fine, again everything looks about 10 years old, so perhaps the hotel is due for a major refurbishment at some point. The food was for the most part excellent, a good variety and some interesting takes on dishes. They have a good selection of a la carte restaurants but the emphasis was always on upselling, which when you plan to go all-inclusive takes the shine off a bit. I would guess that anyone who paid additional money for the premium package would be very satisfied, having to queue for nearly an hour to book a table for the steak house was a let down, especially given the App for making the bookings did not work. Customer service was variable. Some of the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, some were clearly very new and nervous. This is one area where personality of the staff really makes a difference. Some were appreciative when we tried to converse in Spanish, though my version differs somewhat from the Dominican dialect. Top tip, take everything you need with you, the shops on site are hugely expensive - sun cream was $18 for a standard size bottle. Take medication if you are prone to upset stomach and don't lose or break your sunglasses as the cheapest they have would set you back $120. Despite signs everywhere, the dreaded sun-lounger race is alive and well, which is unusual because this is the first time I have ever experienced this in the Caribbean. The beach was disappointing, but mainly because of the seaweed which was a constant problem. The hotel had teams of people working tirelessly to clear it all but that did mean that most watersports were adversely affected. They certainly know how to party and the shows they put on were actually really good. Some very good dance acts and visiting bands/singers. one thing about this place is that it will be very loud virtually everywhere you go. The beach bar restaurant is very good and the bar staff get a big thumbs up from me for working so hard. Wifi signal is excellent, the room service is also excellent, although we did encounter a problem on arrival - our mattress was completely unsuitable, being far too soft and it took nearly 3 days for them to sort out an alternative. This made us pretty miserable for the first few days and sleepless nights are just awful. But they did change the mattress and it was considerably better. Again, I suspect there is a need for an update in the near future. The hotel itself is nicely spread out over quite a large estate. It will take about 8 minutes to walk from the lobby area to the beach, but they do have golf buggy-type transports if you don;t fancy the walk. One final thing, they are far from cashless, so better to take US dollars with you, they do have an ATM but this dispenses Dominican Pesos and charges for each withdrawal.
