When it comes to planning your dream holiday, first of all you choose your perfect destination; then the ideal resort to suit your needs; then, of course, the best hotel for you. That’s normally as far as your decision-making goes, with your room being allocated to you when you arrive. But now, with Choose Your Room, if you are eligible you will also be offered the chance to pick the room you want to stay in at your hotel, right from the comfort of your own home.
If you're staying at a hotel where the Choose Your Room service is available, and you are eligible to use this service, we will send you an email six days before you travel. Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee everyone will be offered this option due to operational reasons*.
Simply follow the link in the email or select your hotel on the next tab to see its floor plan. This will show all of the facilities, as well as the available rooms and the price you’ll need to pay to confirm your chosen room. The price is payable directly to the hotel when you get to the hotel.
Use our top tips to help you choose your ideal room, depending on your age, lifestyle choice and all the things that are important to you while you’re on holiday.
Head off on holiday and arrive at your hotel safe in the knowledge that you’ve chosen the perfect room to relax and enjoy an unforgettable holiday.
If you ask me, there’s nothing more exciting than booking a holiday and counting down the days in anticipation. You’ve put all that effort into choosing the perfect destination, the right resort and the best hotel; the last thing you want is to arrive and be put in a room that’s not quite right for your needs. But now, Thomas Cook is giving you the option to Choose Your Room before you set off on holiday, helping you get the very best out of your well-deserved trip.
Your hotel room needs to feel like a home away from home, and it needs to be just right for the way that you holiday. So, if you’re like me and have two young children, I’m sure a priority for you will be being close to the action with a poolside room or somewhere near the kids’ club. After all, you never know how many times you’re going to have to nip back to the room to fetch those forgotten nappies or armbands.
On the other hand, if you’re not holidaying with kids, you might be looking for a slice of tranquillity. In which case, for the most peace and quiet, you’ll surely want a room on the hotel’s top floor where you’ll get minimal disturbance from other guests.
Your room choice will depend on a number of things, from your age to your lifestyle preference. So take a look at some more of my tips on how to choose the right room to relax, giving you greater control of your holiday.
*Terms & Conditions:
The Choose Your Room service is offered at selected hotels booked as part of a Thomas Cook package holiday, when you travel after 1 May 2018. Selected customers, who have booked directly with Thomas Cook via our stores (including The Co-operative Travel), or website, will receive an e-mail around 6 days before departure, providing the option to choose and confirm a specific room at the hotel. Prices start from around £30. The choice of rooms will be of the same type/category as originally booked. Not all rooms will be available to select from. Upgrades are not possible with this service. The service can be withdrawn without notice. The service will not be offered to all customers due to operational reasons, as the hotel has to manage its daily room allocations and occupancy.
The service is only offered if we can guarantee a sufficient number of options for you. This is dependable on multiple factors such as room types, arrival and departure day and hotel utilisation.
