Iberostar Bouganville Playa

Fun and excitement for the whole family is on offer at Iberostar Bouganville Playa. It’s located just 20m from Bobo Beach, 750m from a water sports centre, 1.3km from the Thai themed Siam Park and 2.2km from Golf Las Americas. If you don’t have kids consider booking into the adult-only Star Prestige section. Here the benefits include reserved areas with exclusive services and three sun terraces. With 300 sunshine days per year it’s the ideal choice, whatever month of the year you plan to go on holiday.

The Star Camp programme offers activities and fun for children of all ages. 4-7 year olds can swing around in the monkey rainforest, while 8-12s can get acquainted with the underworld world in the dolphin club. Eager teenagers can join in the surprises at the eagles. Whatever your age there’s excitement to be had in the recently refurbished Aquafun.

The restaurant opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here, you can enjoy show cooking and the best Canarian gastronomy, as well as international cuisine. Breakfast options will include tasty tortillas and crêpes. In the evening you may wish to sample the salted salmon or the American-style turkey. There’s also a giant chocolate fountain, so you’ll have to resist the temptation to impersonate Geraldine Granger from the Vicar of Dibley. Barbacoa, open from late morning until early evening, offers light bites and refreshments with views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

You can relax with your favourite beverage poolside thanks to the bar open from 9am to 6pm. In the evening a quiet drink can be obtained from Lanzarote Bar, maybe sample their signature sweet café bombóns and ronmiels? A livelier affair can be had at the Hall Bar, where your ears will have a musical treat. As you’ll be staying on an island where bananas are grown, you should try the local banana liqueur.

Iberostar Bouganville Playa offers a wide variety of room types to suit the needs of different guests. Interconnecting doubles are an ideal choice for family groups that include teenagers, while junior suites are an excellent choice for longer stays. All options include a balcony, TV, air conditioning and hairdryer. Those upgrading to Star Prestige get king sized beds, a safe, bathrobes and slippers.

The onsite fitness centre is equipped with a range of exercise machines including treadmills, exercise bikes and muscle toning machines. If you’re feeling competitive you could challenge someone to a game of darts or pool. Alternatively, clear your mind with a yoga or paddle yoga class. If you plan to hire a bike there’s secure bicycle storage and hotel staff can recommend suitable routes based on your ability.

It is easy to get around Tenerife thanks to the comprehensive bus network available locally. From the stop outside the hotel it is possible to reach Los Cristianos, Las Americas, Costa del Silencio, La Caleta, Los Gigantes and Santa Cruz. The island’s biggest attraction (literally) is Mount Teide with a summit of 3,750m. Here you can see Paisaje Lunar, a structure formed by volcanic activity that looks like it belongs on the moon. The mountain is one of the best spots in the world for stargazing, so if you want to see the Great Bear or possibly even Venus, there’s few places better to observe the night sky from.

Sleep Quality

An excellent Stay with just a couple of flaws

May 2022 | susan1964

We travelled as a group of 4, booked direct with the hotel, but sadly couldn't book our rooms online due to Covid. I contact the hotel and main line and told them what rooms i wanted. We arrived to find the rooms we wanted couldn't be given as the messages hadn't been passed on. They did try to give us different room levels, but i asked if the rooms could be on the same floor. I booked Star prestige sea view rooms but we got side sea rooms. But anyway, the room was nice, light and airy, clean and fresh. Food was flawless, excellent, no complaints, but the blue wrist bands are so like the star prestige wristbands and i found the waiters kept coming over to check if we were in the right seating area annoying when you are eating. I can honestly say not one waiter came to ask us what drinks when would like sitting outside on the main veranda. All holiday we had to go to the bar and get our own. I've been staying years in this hotel and this has never happened before. If you are a smoker you now have to go outside and smoke in the street if your sunbathing next to the pool!!!! Never ever before this has happened not even a small smoking area set aside for smokers. I don't agree with smoking by the pool but a little area near the pool bar would be good. However there is very uncomfortable seating near reception where you can smoke, but again it seems that a smoker is treated as second class. We had friends staying another hotel, who could smoke anywhere. We found bars where you can sit out side and have a drink with a ciggie, so i don't understand why this hotel has to take it to an extreme level. Over all i would stay in this hotel, its a fantastic location, friendly bar & reception staff and i must not forget the room cleaner, who work so hard and always had a smile on her face.

Best holiday ever ❤️

We have just finished a week at the hotel Iberostar in Tenerife. I can honestly say it’s the best hotel we have ever stayed in. So much choice everyday with the food. All the drinks included with our all inclusive. All of the staff so friendly and polite. We are sad to be going home. The hotel is spotlessly clean. No complaints whatsoever. Can’t wait to return. Would highly recommend

Men need to wear trousers to the restaurant in the evening

May 2022 | Loulou270

We stayed in this hotel in April 2022 and had a lovely stay. Staff are amazing and always very helpful. Hotel was clean and the food had a good choice every night. There are 2 things that let this hotel down. 1. their very old and dated policy that men have to wear trousers to the restaurant in the evening. It’s so sexist! Men can dress smart in shorts. There were woman in skirts that were shorter!!! It’s 2022 and Iberostar need to get with the times. Luckily my husband had packed a couple of pairs of trousers and he just had to keep wearing them for the week we were away. We spoke to others that had to buy trousers or were wearing their tracksuit bottoms every night! Such a ridiculous policy. 2. The hotel allow people to reserve sun beds. If you’re not up at 7.30am/ 8am chances are you wouldn’t get a sun bed. I’ve not experienced anything like it in a long time. For a 4 star hotel you would expect someone to be policing that better.
