Sleep Quality

Not on par with previous experiences, staff need a wake up call

To preface this review, members of my family have been coming to this hotel for over 37 years - whilst we know it’s not the best in this location we have kept coming as it’s sentimental to us. However, we will be carefully considering another visit.. Pros: - great location, right on the sea, sea view rooms are good and get the sunset, you can see the sea from the terraces and restaurants. Close proximity to external activities (surfing/marina for boat trips/fishing/siam park etc) - Rooms are fine, good size, clean - Ample sunbed/cabana space and a number of pools - Activity staff are absolutely brilliant- we partook in most of the daily activities (boules, shooting, archery, ping pong etc), and this is another main reason we return. The activities staff are phenomenal and Marina in particular is excellent, we look forward to seeing her each visit! - Cleaning staff were lovely and helpful - Massage was lovely with Paco who was friendly as ever Cons: - Majority of the hospitality staff (restaurant/bar) were absolutely appalling. Customer service non existent (e.g. front desk didn’t even ask how our stay was as we checked out- or they’d have heard this from me directly and not as a review!). Irish barman at the only daytime bar highly confrontational and unpleasant so much so it put us off ordering! We observed him ‘having a go’ and being confrontational to other guests too. He wasn’t present on any previous visits and we can only hope he won’t be in the future. Some of the restaurant staff also came across quite incapable (throwing away half bottles of wine etc) - Privilege restaurant food is absolutely terrible, quality of food much better in the main buffet restaurant. A real shame, we tried the restaurant many times as the location is wonderful and we wanted to love it - The way the staff treated the ‘privilege’ guests means it’s absolutely not worth paying for - I left the privilege refreshment area and another lady left shortly after me, unbeknownst to me carrying two drinks. I was then followed to the upper terrace where a restaurant member of staff (I think the head) and an accompanying bodyguard (really!) came to accost me in front of many other guests, coming towards me from 100ft away shouting and waving his finger at me like I was a naughty child. I asked what on earth this could be about to be told ‘you know what you’ve done’ by the enraged man, upon which I said I do not know, he gestured to the other woman (again, nothing to do with me) and said I knew I wasn’t ‘allowed to take drinks and to come with him’. Beyond belief at this point, I raised that it had nothing to do with me and that I didn’t appreciate being spoken to in this manner. After MUCH aggression from the two men (over a coffee no less) they retreated but safe to say I deserved an apology which obviously never came. Frankly if someone’s paid for a coffee/water god knows how pathetic it is to restrict where they might drink it (I didn’t bother to pass the angry message along to the woman in question) - Perhaps H10 should provide some anger management and basic human decency classes for their staff, we were truly disgusted by some of the attitudes we were presented with on this trip Please do bear in mind that we are a family who have traveled here in excess of 40 times as a whole, and have never once complained - this has tainted all of our expectations and frankly we were due a very frank conversation with customer service (again, wasn’t invited to feedback even once by totally useless front desk staff) Sadly not at all on par with previous experiences (and indeed other hotels)- perhaps time to look elsewhere!

Exceeded expectations

This is a lovely hotel. It is situated slightly in a slightly less busy part of Costa Adeje but is right on the promenade and overlooks a small beach. We were somewhat dubious about all-inclusive but the service was excellent, friendly and attentive staff and a hugely varied selection of premium food and drink. Our room was a premium room on the 9th floor overlooking the sea. Apart from a daily long walk along the promenade (5 miles in either direction) we did not leave the hotel, it was a very relaxing holiday and the weather in February was perfect. We will be back for sure.

Extremely good just a couple of niggles!

Super adults only hotel. The upgrade was definitely worth the extra money, I do agree with previous guests, a pool as opposed to just a jacuzzi would’ve been nice to have in that designated area. Good plentiful and freshly cooked, adult only so gratefully no screaming kids…. Only issue was the room. 2 tiny drawers, no dressing table mirror…. Really think that a set of deep drawers would be a given for this class of hotel. Piling clothes, swimming costumes, underwear ect on top of each other, not ideal, however, a minor issue. The reception area, very soulless, needs a little investment, especially as this is where they host pre dinner entertainment, felt like a doctors reception!
