Playaolid Suites & Apartments
2982 reviews
Classic Spanish style meets relaxing vibes at Playaolid Suites & Apartments in Fanabe, Costa Adeje. Whether you opt for the flexibility of self catering or the ease of all inclusive, you can look forward to a great value getaway at this family-friendly hotel.
Those totally Canarian whitewashed walls and tiled roofs are just a short 800m walk from the golden sands of Playa de Fanabe. With its clear waters and Blue Flag status, it’s perfect for making the most of Tenerife’s famous year-round sun. And when the temperature does drop a little in the winter, don’t worry, the Playaolid’s main and kids’ pools are both heated during the cooler months. When you’re not taking a dip, do as the locals might and indulge in a siesta on the grassy poolside, or grab a mocktail and a hot dog from the bar.
There are three other bars, too, plus an international buffet restaurant serving up three meals a day - including a kids’ menu during the school holidays. So, they can tuck into chicken nuggets or hamburgers while you enjoy the speciality dishes of the regular theme nights or traditional local fare. There’s even a special kitchen catering for a range of dietary requirements, including coeliac, allergies, diabetes and lactose intolerance. As for eating out, there’s a smorgasbord of options nearby. You won’t have to look hard to find a table with a sea view, either. No wonder Fanabe’s such a popular area!
Looking for a chocolate fix, picnic provisions or something to entertain the kids on the flight home? You'll find supermarkets, gift shops and a great choice of other stores 200m from the hotel at Fanabe Plaza. Very handy if you’re self catering, in need of souvenirs, or forget to pack some of your holiday essentials!
Venture a little further afield and you'll find the famous Thai-themed water park, Siam Park, just 2.6km away, and all the entertainment, nightlife and fantastic surfing of Playa de las Americas is around 5km away. Love a good view? Pull on your comfiest shoes and follow the rough path up Chayofita Mountain, a short climb above the beach at Los Cristianos (approx. 5.5km from the Playaolid). The coastal panorama’s totally worth it.
There’s lots to keep you busy back at the hotel, too. With everything from aerobics classes to karaoke and themed parties, there’s entertainment for everyone, day and night. The kids’ club lays on all sorts of activities for 3-11 year olds, such as cooking sessions, shows and foam parties, while the teens’ club is open for those aged 12-17 in the evenings - think movie nights, table tennis and gaming.
After all that, you’ll be glad of your comfy room for a good night’s rest, ready to do it all again the next day. Playaolid offers an excellent choice of studios, apartments and suites, with options for couples, friends, families and luxury-seekers.
Studios have a double bed (can be separated into twins), kitchenette, satellite TV, ceiling fan, safe and a balcony or terrace. Premium apartments are similar with a separate bedroom and living room/kitchenette. Family apartments have a sofa bed in the living room, Playstation, changing table, bottle warmer and a highchair.
For the ultimate Playaolid experience, go for a suite. Sleeping arrangements are more flexible with two double beds and a sofa bed in the standard suite, plus you’ll get WiFi, two smart TVs, a hydromassage bath and air conditioning. Family suites are also available.

Perfect Family Holiday
We’ve just returned from awake away and this hotel was perfect for us who were on a budget. We have two little kiddies (just turned 3 and another 9 months). Plenty of sun beds. Stayed around the kiddy pool the entire time which had artificial grass around it so I didn’t need to worry about them slipping and falling over on tiles! It also had a gated entrance so the kids were always soooo safe! The rooms were lovely and spacious and very clean. The hotel itself was all very clean! Food was lovely but choice was limited compared to higher star hotels but that’s what you expect! Nevertheless, the food was still tasty and we never went hungry! Plenty of choice for everyone just not as big of a variety as other places. It’s a 10 min walk to the beach so not too far. The only issue we had was the mini disco didn’t start until 9 which I thought was a little late. Just wish it could have been earlier!
Cheap and cheerful
We stayed here mid June. For what we paid we had a fab time. Food plentiful and lots of choice and I have a fussy 14 year old. Hotel very clean and our room was very spacious for two of us. Great that snacks are offered during the day, hot dogs, chips, burgers, pizza etc for the kids by the pool.. No questionns asked if i asked for more than one alcoholic drink at a time which was great. Lovely slushes for the kids too. Night time entertainment was good and varied and bar area is lovely and clean and modern. Supermarket next door offering 10% discount to guests. Good location - 10 min walk to beach and nightlife should you want it. Few bars on the way. Lots of shops to choose from very close. Lots of steps in the Hotel so not great for elderly I would say. Only downside is the queues on the lead up to 10am to reserve beds at the pool - people reserving lots at a time ! Pool gets quite shaded by 4pm so choose you bed wisely. We would def stay again. Animation ok - Bit repetitive but that didn't bother us. Had a trip to Water park - Would def pay extra for fast track tickets next time. Queues were horrendous for slides. All in all a great break !
Highly recommend
My husband and I stayed at this hotel one week AI. The food was lovely, well cooked and plenty of selection with theme nights of Mexican, and oriental. The drinks are typical AI local spirits ect, the beer was draught Amstel. We had a one bedroom adult appartment, and it was very spacious, and spotlessly clean. Had a kitchen area also with fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee percolator. The staff were friendly helpful and always on hand, brilliant, and a credit to the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable week.
