DO NOT HESITATE IN BOOKING THIS AMAZING PLACE!! (Family of four with two young children)
I’m that person who usually just reads these reviews but after our stay here I felt compelled to write one as this place is amazing. We booked this purely on all the other great reviews on here and we weren’t disappointed. Our first holiday as a family, we wanted somewhere the kids would enjoy but also somewhere us parents could enjoy too. Everyone we spoke to had either already been before, been recommended it or were super impressed with their first visit here. Read on for the full, somewhat rambling, review : On arrival, it’s very modern and impressive, lots of glass and natural light coming in and it feels SO CLEAN. And yes, after a week here I can confirm It is immaculate. We’ve stayed in lots of places all over and this tops the lot in the cleanliness stakes. Every single surface and area are cleaned and wiped down on a daily basis, all the staff work so hard and always have a friendly smile for you. At the risk of sounding snobby, the clientele here is definitely a bit more upper class. Not your dripping-in-designer gear folk but just decent, hard working nice families needing some much needed downtime, but it’s not over run with children and the kids that are here were well behaved and friendly. Firstly it is immaculate. Everywhere is clean and spotless, not one grubby or dusty corner can be found. The cleaners and housekeepers are constantly working and are doing a brilliant job. We are a family of four (1x 3yo and 1x 1yo) and the room Is spacious with two bathrooms and an interjoining door which is great at bedtime. The little details are great, especially if you are travelling with kids - subtle built in nightlights, light up wardrobes, mini fridge, microwave and sink/kettle for heating milk, all cleverly hidden away next to the wardrobes, the sofa bed for our 3yo has sides which are really just part of the sofa but means she won’t fall out when she’s sleeping, the cot bed is a proper, wooden slatted cot which was beautifully made up complete with mini robe and slippers, you don’t need to return a pool towel just to get another (handy to have a couple for the kids each), our 1yo has a dairy intolerance and they got us a carton of oat milk for the room without a blink of an eye and told us just to ask when we need another, and the staff are genuinely just the nicest bunch of folk. They are so helpful and sincere and cannot do enough for you (without feeling like they are putting it on just to get tips, they do genuinely want you to have the best time). For reference, we stayed in room 242 which was conveniently located on level 2, right along from the elevator and the level 2 pool, it had a garden for the kids to play in (I think there are 16 of these garden rooms) and got the sun in the late afternoon/evening which was lovely. We stayed Half Board, and the food was fantastic. Lots and lots of choice at breakfast (all of which was super), and again a good choice at dinner. They don’t scrimp on brands either, all Kellogg’s cereals and mini Hellman’s jars of sauces. There isn’t loads and loads piled on like at a lot of All Inclusive places but what is on offer is very tasty and well presented. Lots of mini appetisers and beautiful dishes and freshly grilled fish and meat all cooked exactly to your taste, couldn’t fault it. The waiting staff go the extra mile at meal times, smiling and waving at your toddler to grab their attention while you clean them up, getting plastic plates etc before you can even ask, just the little things that make it easier with kids. It really is appreciated. The food and drinks during the day which you pay for are a bit on the pricey side but you are welcome to take fruit and rolls at breakfast time to snack on during the day and is especially handy for the kids (food is life). We occasionally made up little rolls for lunch and again they don’t mind. The waiters are always floating about around the pool to bring you what you need and again were so smiley and kind. Always plenty sun loungers. Not once did we see people leaving towels out at the crack of dawn. We stayed late Feb/early March and it wasn’t quiet or busy, just a nice capacity. We spent our days at the upper pool on Level 2 which had the most child friendly pool but even then it was still relaxing and not once were we water bombed despite lying right next to the pool all week! The water aerobics took place in a quiet corner so we weren’t disturbed by loud music blaring out everywhere. There is another pool on level 1 which was quieter and more adult friendly but both had plenty of loungers and booths. There is an adults only rooftop pool on the top floor and a splash zone for toddlers with little slides and fountains on level 4 although we didn’t venture much further than the level 2 pool. Now, the kids entertainers! I was a bit apprehensive about leaving the 3yo in a place where she didn’t know with people she hadn’t met but these worries were literally squashed within 24 hours of being here. The other parents were raving about them and they run a breakfast club 3 or 4 mornings a week in the main restaurant where they colour in and play while the parents can eat their breakfast in peace (heaven), and the kids club run twice a day every day and our 3yo couldn’t wait to go back every day! The crafts they do and the things they make are impressive and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. There are mini discos every night at 8.15 for half an hour and while it might be a bit late for younger children it’s great fun and pretty much guarantee you a full nights uninterrupted sleep!! There is also plenty for older kids too - a mini go karting area, an impressive surf pool, a tree house climbing zone, a room full of modern looking simulators and a teen zone although I can’t comment on any of these however I don’t doubt that they’ll be on par with the rest of the activities. Right outside the hotel is a really swanky shopping centre so if you like your designers or just enjoy some pretty decent window shopping it’s right up your street. You’re 5 minutes away from the beautiful Playa del Duque beach and the walk down and along is dotted with lovely restaurants (the beach to the left is Fanabe - less beautiful and more touristy but still worth a nosey for a change of scene to get an ice cream). All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate in booking this hotel. Whether you’re a mature couple or family with young kids, they’re pretty much nailing it in every area and you won’t find a cleaner hotel or friendlier staff anywhere else. We will definitely be returning to this lovely hotel.
Wonderful family holiday
Just home from a wonderful stay in this hotel. From the moment we arrived we were treated like VIPs. Our 4 year was created with a lollipop which was a nice touch and was actually given one daily because he kept asking ☺️. The hotel was spotless, the food was topclass and the facilities exceptional and the location was perfect. Whoever is in charge of this hotel is doing a great job. Hope to return next year
Great hotel
Beautiful hotel in a great location. The rooftop bar is a treat for sunset. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and very well decorated. This is the second time we stayed and it doesn't disappoint. Breakfast is excellent. Great for families also but I would recommend speaking to the hotel if you don't want your room to overlook the evening entertainment area.
