Looking for a quality 4-star hotel for your Lanzarote holiday? Beatriz Costa & Spa should be top of your list! Great for families, couples and spa breaks, it’s got everything you need to unwind. You’ll find this winning combination in Costa Teguise, a popular beach resort on the island’s eastern coast.
Stay here and you’ll be within walking distance of Costa Teguise resort centre (around 2km away). Or you could hop on the hotel’s complimentary transfer service, which is especially handy if you’ve been spending all your euros on souvenirs, eating your fill in one of the many restaurants and cafes, or tiring the kids out jumping the waves down at the seashore.
There’s also a couple of sandy beaches nearby, including Playa de las Cucharas. It’s a pleasant stroll down to this crescent-shaped stretch of sand, where you can enjoy views out across the Atlantic Ocean. The shallow waters make it a great beach for families, and there are restaurants, cafes and bars lining the promenade - meaning you won’t need to worry about packing a picnic.
Being at one of the best hotels in Costa Teguise, you also won’t be far from Aquapark, the biggest waterpark in Lanzarote. As well as an amazing range of slides and pools, with something for all ages, there’s a cinema and paintballing there, so it’s a top option for that big day out you might be planning, and less than 4km away too!
As for the Beatriz Costa & Spa itself, it’s set amongst gorgeous palm-filled gardens and has a fantastic outdoor pool area - there are three in all, including one specially designed for kids, giving an impressive total of 2000 square metres of water to swim and splash in! And the surrounding sun terrace is just what you need for relaxing with a drink from the bar and making use of the hotel's wi-fi. Nab a hammock for the ultimate in poolside chill-out time.
And if it’s chill-out time you want, then you’re definitely in the right place. You’re going to love the Spa & Wellbeing Centre! You could spend at least a couple of hours indulging your senses at the INITIUM hydrothermal circuit, complete with therapeutic pools and showers, bubble massage beds, saunas and hammam. Or go the whole hog and book yourself in for one of the spa treatments and beauty therapies. How about a tension-easing Lomi-Lomi Hawaiian massage, or an unbelievable deep-relaxation session in the flotarium, perhaps?
There’s plenty to do at this Lanzarote hotel if you prefer something a little more active, too, with fitness classes such as aerobics and aqua aerobics, a gym, two tennis courts, archery and minigolf on offer. There are also games such as basketball, football, petanque, table tennis, darts and pool.
Plus, every evening, the hotel stages live shows suitable for the whole family at Bar Espectaculos Niagara. Afterwards, drop in at Piano Bar Manila, open until late at night, where you can sip a nightcap by the indoor lake in the spectacular lobby garden. Or, take your pick from the local nightlife nearby.
There are also several places to eat in the area around Beatriz Costa & Spa, making it easy to tickle your tastebuds with regional specialities, but you won’t want to miss out on the hotel’s own dining options. For a start, there’s a 20m-high waterfall at the main buffet restaurant, making for a pretty special setting for your breakfast, lunch or dinner. There are live cooking stations, too, where you can see your food prepared fresh in front of you.
Over at the informal Las Falapas by the pool, you can tuck into snacks and light meals served under a thatched roof - just what you need when you’re spending the day in the Canarian sun. And for an exclusive treat, make your way to the theme restaurant for your evening meal, featuring food from a different part of the world every night.
For those days when you just want to stay in your own space, or need to eat while your little ones nap, there’s always room service! Take your food out onto your balcony or terrace to eat with a view of the pools or gardens, one of those simple pleasures that can make a holiday extra memorable. And if you choose a junior suite, you’ll have a separate living room, giving you more options for your in-room dining as well as more space - so they’re the best choice for families.
Whichever type of room you choose, each one feels bright and open, helping you to unwind as soon as you unpack. Each has wi-fi access, air conditioning, fridge, satellite TV and a hairdryer, plus space for an extra bed or a cot if you need it.
And should you need anything at any time of the day or night, Beatriz Costa & Spa has a 24-hour reception desk; it’s all part of the great service!

Absolutely beautiful
My husband and I have had an amazing week spent at Beatriz Costa Teguise. A perfect week away. A huge thank you to all the staff, they literally cannot do enough for you. Michael in the animation team is hilarious and has a real talent and gift. David and Youri were so welcoming and friendly during evening mealtimes and I wish them well in their future studies. This has been such a fantastic week that we are looking to book for next year. Thank you Beatriz for making our week such a memorable one
Really good holiday
After reading some of the reviews on here, we were not too sure what to expect. However, this hotel was great. Rooms were a great size, balcony was a great size and private, all the staff were lovely, especially the two guys who did the pool entertainment, maids cleaned our room each day and were so pleasant. We only had breakfast here, but that was absolutely fine too. Pool area was really clean. This hotel is also only a 15-20 minute walk away from the restaurants and shops. For what you pay, this hotel is a winner.
Staff take no pride in their hotel - badly needs TLC, a good deep clean & a facelift
Lobby: looks amazing with all the shiny floors & sleek modern look. There's a bookcase where you can leave or get a new book to read. There is seating where you can wait for your excursion or bus to the airport, though the armchairs are not designed for the fuller figure. The staff generally are quite helpful with questions & booking taxis. Pool towels: It's very badly explained by the hotel, but the pool towels are free to use, you just need to give Reception your credit / debit card in order to get given a towel ticket (they make a note of the numbers as security), which you then hand in at the booth by the pool to get the towel. You're allocated 1 towel for the duration of your stay per person but if you wish to change towels, it'll cost you €2 per person. Transport: wearing facemasks is still mandatory for all forms of transport. Ask Reception for a taxi & it usually arrives within 5 minutes (slightly longer wait on Saturdays). The drivers will quote your room number - especially handy when there's a few people waiting for taxis. A taxi into town costs approx €3 (you'll need cash) or it'll take you approx 20-30 mins to walk if you use the shortcut at the triangle. For a bus to the Sunday market (much smaller scale in winter months) you need to catch a bus outside the pharmacy at the Lanzarote Gardens stop, but the driver only accepts cash. It'll cost you €5 return by bus or €18 one way by taxi. The website states the hotel offers a shuttle bus to the beach - there isn't one! But.....once you get past the lobby it all looks a bit tired - in serious need of a refurb & a good deep clean. Communal areas: Lifts aren't cleaned inside, smeared glass, they smell unpleasant & sound like they need a good service. Thick layer of sandy dust on fairy lights & window ledges visible from the lift. Corridor carpets are stained, there are broken window handles with rubbish outside showing through the windows & paint patches on walls done in different darker colour. Lights weren't working on the 6th floor for 2 evenings so it was pitch black & there was no soap in the ladies toilet by the exit to the pool. A resident removed all the leaves from one of the ivy tendrils one night, with all the leaves sitting on the top step down to the 6pm bar area, but it took the staff until 11am to clear it up (bit of a health hazard). Bars: the only decent bar is the one that's open between 6pm - 10pm as it serves you proper drinks poured from bottles. The drinks here are served with a smile (unlike the other bars) & in glasses. The rest of the bars water down the alcohol & everything comes out of a machine served in plastic beakers (even the inside bar where the nightly entertainment happens!). Main restaurant: food is beige, bland & cold. There's a sign near the kiwi fruit & peaches telling you it's local produce - so why have the kiwi fruit been frozen & the peaches come floating in syrup? The only fresh fruit were black bananas! Even the meat that's been cooked fresh on the side section then gets placed on plates to go cold. The fries are worse than McDonalds - stone cold & tasteless. By request they will make you an omlette at breakfast & the rolls are best eaten once they've been through the bread warmer twice. The lower tablecloths never get changed so anything that gets split stays on the lower tablecloth. We watched the manager in the black dinner jacket casually throw a fresh tablecloth to a table but miss, so he picked it up & threw it again but once more it landed on the floor, so he picked it up again but this time placed it on the table! There needs to be more coffee machines in the mornings as there were always long queues at the 3 machines. Pool bar food: this food is better than the main restaurant. The fries are hot, the baguettes / rolls seem fresher than the morning ones & there's a good selection to choose from. Pools: the bottom of the warmer pool is breaking up so they're placing large concrete tiles over the broken bits to hide it! When we arrived there was 1 tile, but when we left there were 6 tiles in there. You don't see these tiles so people are constantly stubbing their toes on them. The white edging to the pools aren't cleaned - we had flying ants one day & dead ants continued to cover the white edging until we left. The larger pool seemed to be in better condition, but barely anyone goes in it as it's absolutely freezing! Pool area by sunbeds: this is never cleaned. If a complaint is made then a man waves a very weak hose around for a while in an attempt to look like they're tackling the issue. Drinks that are spilt are left which creates a very sticky area for people to walk on. No ashtrays are provided so residents just stub their cigarettes out on the floor by their sunbed that then get blown round by the wind as does any rubbish. There was a mouldy piece of lemon from someone's drink by my sunbed that had been there for days. If you complained to the outdoor staff, all you got was 'no speak English' but complaints to the managers inside didn't result in action either. The sunbeds are crammed together with little or no room between them & there's only a couple of mini tables that people can use. It would be much nicer if each pair of sunbeds had a mini table between them with more room to get on & off the sunbed. I appreciate that it's boring being a lifeguard & handing out towels, but having the sound of your videos you're watching or your music competing with the blaring music the entertainment team blast out every day is irritating. Outside area: generally this was kept in fairly good condition & I did see a gardener collecting up fallen leaves, but no-one seemed to be sweeping up the cigarette butts & rubbish. Beware though... the tiles outside are exceptionally slippery when wet, even in barefeet. Music from Entertainment Team: it's relentless! It starts at 11am every single day with the Good Morning song from Singing in the Rain being played on a continual loop for 12 very long tedious minutes!! After that it depends on which staff member is on duty as to what type of music you get, but rest assured....it's very, very loud & it's music for the younger generation only! Thankfully if you're quick enough you can get a sunbed near the waterfall which helps to drown out the music. If not, then you get deafened. But then the waterfall is switched off at around 2pm leaving you with the loud music. If you choose to sit on your balcony instead of round the pool, the music's deafening, so you end up not using your balcony. Why does it need to be that loud? And why does it need to be on continually? Room: our room wasn't hoovered once in the 2 weeks we were there. Nor was the bathroom floor or balcony mopped in that time. The fridge door was broken & there were darker patches of paint on the walls where repairs have been made. The carpet was badly stained & 1 of the chairs had grafitti scrawled on it as well as a broken seat. The bedding was stained & one part had a hole...but the bedding wasn't changed once during our stay. The balcony table was badly split & uneven from where it's constantly in the sun, the chairs had broken struts & the wall was badly chipped in places. The outside clothesline never gets cleaned - there was a thick layer of sandy dirt on top. All in all it comes across that the hotel is understaffed with low morale & in desperate need of a refurb. The staff cared more about putting up the Xmas decorations than anything else. There's no way this should be considered a 4* hotel & this had the highest rating by TUI as well. It's a shame as this must've been an amazing hotel once. The greenery inside is a lovely touch & amazing to see as you come down in the lift, but more effort needs to be made to the other parts of the hotel. The issues with the room should've been picked up & reported by the housekeeping staff - not noticing the broken or damaged items must mean they don't clean them which is bad enough, but not noticing the bedding is stained & damaged as you put it on / make the bed is shocking. Similarly the issues in the communal areas could easily have been kept on top of if they'd been reported by the staff. 2 chaps (managers?) in white shirts came out every day & stood for about an hour by the warmer pool doing nothing before going back in - why weren't they walking around to check everything was clean, nothing was broken & that the guests were all happy? And when guests did complain about an issue to a manager, why didn't the manager check it had been dealt with correctly? The manager should do twice daily walks around the hotel to check that everything's as it should be - once in daylight & once at night - that's the kind of customer service a 4* hotel should be offering. This can be a lovely hotel again, but a lot of things need addressing.
