Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park - All Inclusive

Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park is a family-friendly All Inclusive resort on the southern coast of Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands. The hotel's garden and pool look onto Jandia Beach, where you can play in the sand or take a swim in the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel has three outdoor swimming pools, along with two shallower pools for children and infants. There's also a spa for you to relax in. During the summer season, the hotel hosts entertainment six days a week. Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park is steps away from a popular shopping mall with both high street and high-end brands and places to eat. It's also a short walk from Playa del Matorral, an area of natural beauty with a mix of grassy dunes and sandy beaches. Along the promenade that runs parallel to the beach you'll find a skeleton of a sperm whale. It's one of a series of installations around Fuerteventura which draw attention to protecting the ocean and the environment. The area is known for its protection of local animals and provides a safe space for nesting turtles. Further along at the curve of the beach you'll discover the Faro de Morro Jable, a lighthouse built in the centre of the beach area. A wooden pathway cuts past it, linked the beach to the promenade and the beach. You can walk along from the resort past the lighthouse, where you'll find a beachfront bar, so you can have a drink while resting on the beach.

Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park is 200m from Jandia beach and 40km from Jandia. The southern part of the island is renowned for its scenery, and the hotel is roughly 10km from the entrance to Jandia Natural Park, the most expansive of three parks in Fuerteventura. One of the highlights of the park is hiking Pico de la Zarza, the tallest mountain on the island. From its peak you'll have panoramic view of the entire island. It also encompasses Cofete beach on the north side of the island, a 26km drive away from the hotel. The beach is a wild conservation area for many species of birds. You can see the sights of the trails without the hiking by visiting Faro de Punta Jandia, a lighthouse that sits on the furthest point west of Fuerteventura, 27km away. The building is still active, but also doubles as a museum, with marine life exhibits and a viewing deck so you can enjoy sweeping views of the ocean.

The Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park has a buffet restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a range of international dishes to try. The restaurant also hosts show cooking. There are three bars within the hotel, and you'll find more bars at Jandia beach, where you can enjoy a drink with a sea view.

Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park has a kids' club for children aged 3-7. There's also a water park at the north of island for a day trip away.

The rooms at Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park are bright and airy with modern furnishings. They all come with air conditioning.

Sleep Quality

Perfect for families

This was our 3rd trip to this hotel with our young family (3 children under 5). The hotel pool area is big enough that those not wanting to be near the childrens area can find peaceful places. The dining room is very child friendly. Pros; Very friendly for children. Particular thanks to Shirley who really pays attention to all the children and helps them to have a fun holiday. Meal times are easy with children as staff are used to them, are friendly and don’t mind some mess. OK selection of food and quality is good. Close to the most lovely beach, one of the best on the island. Only a short walk and always has plenty of space, and sunloungers to hire which are sheltered from the wind. Heated pools even in winter, the children were not cold in the water. They wore wetsuits as if windy then they would have been chilly when going on the water slides. Children pools perfect for young children. Childrens disco each night is very fun. Drinks are good and always available. Areas for improvement; The food selection is not as wide as it used to be. I imagine it is because the hotel has reduced capacity? Mainly thinking that previously there would be more going on in the restaurant in the evenings, themed night etc. But overall we were still happy with the food offered. The hotel rooms, whilst clean, are tired and need upgrading. We knew to expect this, and were perfectly happy with the decor but worth noting. Childrens disco is too late for the age group; 7pm at the latest would be better. More options to have baths rather than showers (for children). Room tip; There are two sets of interconnecting rooms, on the ground floor. They are a suite and junior suite.

Well where do i start

The RECEPTIONIST staff are rude not nice .. The staff everywhere else were ok.. But the day the Blond Senior Management arrived on the 10th January i thought i was up graded to a different Hotel staff saying good morning cheff was out in the restaurant food improved.. Wow.. Only complaints are 1. Screaming children in the Dinning room there should be a time you can dine with well behaved children. It was SHOCKING SAW PEOPLE COVERING THERE EARS WITH HER HANDS AT DINNER AND AT LUNCH.. CRAZY.. 2. SAW ONE OF THE PHOTO CREW STARING AT WOMEN PRIVET PARTS AS THEY CAME DOWN THE STAIRS... NOT NICE HE SHOULD BE SACKED ASAP. 3.WHY IS THE GYM OPEN AND SPA CLOSED.. 4.ALSO WHY CAN THE BLOND MANAGER and her husband STAY IN ONE HOTEL AND CROSS TO THE OTHER HOTEL FOR MEETINGS with staff and Dinner there at night ... DOES SHE NOT CARRY COVID?????. 5. The pool area is not very private also very windy no shelter.

We stayed here in the October half term. All the staff were incredibly friendly, including the entertainment team who were really engaging. The evening shows were great with good variety. The cleanliness around the hotel was really good and the rooms regularly refreshed. The food was great with a good variety and differing settings to eat in. 100% recommend. So much so we’ve booked to return in 2022!
