Located in the north of Fuerteventura, this holiday village is nestled between a volcanic nature park and the Canary’s trademark beaches, consisting of a mixture of white and black sand. There’s separate pools for the adults and children - the grown-ups can relax on a sunlounger with a cocktail, while the little ones splash around in the volcano themed waterpark, boasting a wave machine and slides.
The kids’ club offers a wide range of activities for young travellers (aged 4-17), while everyone can have fun with a game of football, basketball, ping pong, mini golf, volleyball and much more. If you prefer to relax on the beach, rather than poolside, take advantage of the complimentary shuttle service. Fuerteventura Origo Mare is not just for human guests, as pets are welcome to come along too!
Choose the meal plan that suits your family the best: there’s Room Only, Bed & Breakfast, Half Board and All Inclusive. The main restaurant offers a buffet service, boasting show cooking. The little guests get special provision, with child-friendly foods available. While for the tiniest travellers, there’s high chairs and the option of heating up baby food. If you go for All Inclusive you can enjoy mid-afternoon snacks, including ice cream for no additional charge. And that’s not all - local wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, hot drinks and non-alcoholic drinks are included for at least 12 hours a day. The lobby and pool bars are open year-round, while the lounge bar is open in high season (April to October).
As for your room, Studio Apartments have space for up to three people. These boast a terrace, double bed, and a sofa bed, plus a fully equipped kitchenette, that includes an oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster and a coffee machine. Stocking up with your favourite foods is a breeze, thanks to the mini supermarket that’s just 200m away. One Bed Villas offer the same facilities but with separate rooms for sleeping, cooking and relaxing. The Two Bed Villa option has two floors, with an additional bedroom and a bath, as well as a shower. These can cater for families of up to six. Upgrade to a superior option and you’ll also get a washing machine - some even include a rooftop terrace!
If you want to explore an unspoilt landscape, you’ll be in the right place, as the island’s nature parks stretch for miles. Is Lobos Island on your bucket list? Just 20 minutes by ferry from Corralejo (20km drive away), it’s easy to get there and well worth the trip - it’s so peaceful that you’re only allowed to stay in this beauty spot for four hours at the most! But don’t worry, it’s small enough to cycle around the entire island in about 45 minutes. Alternatively, you may opt to go snorkelling, windsurfing or dolphin watching.
Or if you’re a cheese lover, you won’t want to miss out on a visit to Museo del Queso (45 minutes’ drive away). Here, you can sample the local Majorero cheese, once you’ve become an expert on this delicacy made from goat’s milk.
