Iberostar Club Cala Barca - All Inclusive

Located on the southeastern coast of Majorca, Iberostar Club Cala Barca is a large family-friendly resort, equivalent to the size of ten football pitches. The little ones can splash around in a kids pool, complete with its own pirate ship. While four of the eight pools are just for the grown ups. A gentle stroll takes you down to the sandy beach, surrounded by rocky inlets.

Iberostar’s Star Camp programme splits activities and entertainment for children into three age groups. 4-7 year olds can join the Monkeys, the Dolphins are for 8-12 year olds, while the teenagers can participate in the Eagles. This allows the youngest guests to enjoy a singalong or play around in the ballpit, while the bigger kids are learning to dive.

The adults have a choice of relaxing on a sunlounger poolside, chilling on the beach, playing tennis or working out in the gym. If you prefer to exercise in the countryside the nearby Mondragó Nature Reserve has a range of hiking trails, including easy family-friendly options.

Each of the four restaurants are open for breakfast and dinner. Baleares offers an international buffet, allowing you to experience some of the tastiest dishes from around the world, without leaving Majorca. Don’t miss the themed evening meals, including a weekly Asian night. Mediterranean gives you the opportunity to sample some of the local specialities, such as sobrasada sausage, fish stew, suckling pig and pa amb oli. The Beach House serves the juiciest cuts of meat, fresh from the BBQ. While a variety of Italian dishes are on the menu at Capricho. From 7pm choose your favourite pizza topping.

Two food trucks dish up a variety of treats including tasty waffles. Or, ask the attendant at either of the ice cream stalls for a scoop of your favourite frozen flavour. A couple of snack bars offer a range of refreshing beverages, as well as a selection of healthy and not-so-healthy light bites. In the evening Mondragó doesn’t just serve drinks until 1am, there’s dancing, live music and entertainment.

Iberostar Club Cala Barca offers a range of room types to suit the needs of different travellers. Choose from a variety of different double, apartment, family and suite options. Whichever you go for air conditioning, WiFi, a microwave, a TV and a hairdryer are all included as standard. While a safe is available for a surcharge. The eco-conscious will be pleased to know the rooms are free of single use plastic.

The resort of Cala d'Or is under 7km away. Here you will find a wide selection of cafes and restaurants and an 18th-century fort, offering spectacular views of the coastline. You may also wish to consider a visit to the traditional, rural town of Campos, under 30 minutes’ drive away. The skyline of the old town is dominated by the tower of the Church of St Julia. After a walk around, treat yourself to an Ensaimada, a local puff pastry bun or a flour-free Quartos Embetumats from one of the bakeries.

Not a 4 star resort

May 2022 | 120hayleys

I’m writing this review currently on my holiday. The hotel is absolutely not a four star plus there are so many issues. The hotel it’s self is dated, the food is basic and the rooms (we upgraded to a superior) at just touched up but still very rough. We booked with a three year old and the room is a twin with no other beds so we have to use the sofas. These are uncomfortable as sofa let alone a bed! The food in the restaurant in very much average, same for dinner and lunch. Whilst we have been away the toilet doors aren’t working, the inflatable pool isn’t working the ice cream machine isn’t working, the slushie machine isn’t working and the staff are absolutely not helpful or friendly. The one good thins is the all inclusive drinks they are fairly good standard which you can serve yourself so you don’t have to queue. This is a low budget holiday and absolutely not worth the rating it currently has.

Worst check in ever!

May 2022 | Destination648124

Has to be the worst check in experience I've ever had! Took over 1 hours to check in, seems like the staff had no idea what they was doing. Room was clean and tidy. The pool area was nice and relaxing. Food been okay with plenty of options. Has some nice beaches nearby to explore.
