What’s the weather like in California in November?
Often known as the ‘Sunshine State’, the western coastal region of California is in fact quite cloudy and mild at this time of year. In November the rainy winter season brings more wet weather to the state, although showers are usually short and infrequent. With cities including Los Angeles and San Francisco becoming much quieter, this is a good time of year to visit California if you want to avoid the high season crowds.
In November, temperatures in Los Angeles are still quite mild, hovering around 17°C in the daytime and reaching a peak of 23°C on average in the afternoons. With a big dip in temperature to 10°C at night, you’ll need to pack for all weathers on your visit to California at this time of year. Further north in San Francisco, temperatures are much cooler at 13°C in the daytime with highs of 17°C. Southern regions of California are usually drier than northern areas during this month, with 30mm of rain expected in Los Angeles and 65mm in San Francisco.
