What's the weather like in California in August?

On the west coast of the USA, California is known as the ‘Golden State’ and it certainly lives up to its name in August. If you visit at this time of year you’ll need your summer wardrobe for the daytime, with warmer layers for evenings out. Further north in San Francisco, temperatures are slightly cooler with highs of 22°C and lows of 13°C at night. It’s very dry right across the state in August, so it’s unlikely you’ll see any rain.
