What’s the weather like in Sicily in December?

Sicily weather in December is very mild but it’s also very wet, with regular rainfall throughout the month. Although it’s a bit damp at times, December is a great time to travel to Sicily for the holiday season with a good deal of sunshine and very quiet towns and resorts.

    Geographical influences

Sicily is the largest Mediterranean island and enjoys mild but damp winters. It’s home to the active volcano of Mount Etna and two very old cities that are perfect for history buffs. Mountains on the island protect the south of the island from northwest prevailing winds. The northern regions are generally cooler and wetter in winter, so keep this in mind when travelling and remember to pack an umbrella.
