What's the weather like in The Gambia in September?
Gambia is a small country, beautifully set along a river of the same name. A fascinating West African location with an array of beautiful beaches, it has hot weather all year round, making it ideal for enjoying sandy stretches. There’s a rainy season from June to October, so September’s one of the wettest months of the year. If you’re visiting Gambia at this time you’ll need to come prepared, but there’s still plenty of sunshine for you to enjoy too.
Averages
Gambia has an average temperature of 26ºC in September, reaching a high of 30ºC in the peak of the afternoon. UV levels are strong, so remember to bring plenty of high factor sun cream with you. You’ll want to consider a hotel room with air conditioning, as the temperature only dips to a low of 22ºC after dark. With 275mm of rain expected over the course of 16 days, downpours are common, but there are still eight hours of sunshine each day in September. The sea’s lovely and warm too, with the Atlantic waters at an inviting 28ºC this month.
