What’s the weather like in Banff in May?
The climate in the Banff National Park sees quite a sharp improvement compared to early spring, with sunny and warm weather taking over. The Banff weather in May could see temperatures around the mid teens and long days with the sun rising early and not setting until well after 9pm.
Geographical influences
The town of Banff is in Canada’s famous Rocky Mountains, at about 1,400m above sea level in the south west of the country. Light snow could still fall in May and the surrounding hills of Sulphur Mountain, Mount Rundle, Cascade Mountain and Mount Norquay stop the air getting too warm. The higher you travel the lower the temperature falls.
