Music festivals in Izmir

During the spring and the summer the city plays host to festivals featuring top names in the world of music. If you fancy dancing the night away then travel in March for the European Jazz Festival. Since 1994 the festival has been bringing together jazz music and a message of peace and love. Acts from all over the world share the stage, which brings in well-known musicians as well as new artists. Izmir really shines with culture as jazz music is joined by dance performances, art exhibitions and so much more. The festival will take place in different venues across the city so you have a great excuse to explore the area at the same time.

Every June Izmir comes alive with music as the Izmir International Festival begins with a showcase of talented artists. The festival has been so popular that stars like Elton John and Ray Charles have even graced the stage in previous years. The concerts take place in some of the most stunning historical venues across the city including the Library of Celsus and the Odeon in Ephesus. The festival has lots of different performances from the worlds of classic, acoustic and even ballet. You'll probably recognise lots of the international artists who will be joined by local acts playing all kinds of traditional music.
