Explore Batu Caves
Just 8 miles north of the city, Batu Caves is a day-trip from Kuala Lumpur. As you arrive, you can’t miss its famous multicoloured stairs - all 272 of them! The gigantic gold-painted statue standing at the entrance is just as impressive. But the climb will be worthwhile once you reach its cathedral-like caves, which are home to some of the world’s most impressive Hindu shrines.
Unwind in KLCC Park
Need a break from sightseeing? Head to KLCC Park. Smack-bang in the middle of the hustle and bustle, it’s one of the few places where you can take in the Petronas Towers without the noise and crowds. This city sanctuary is a great pit-stop if you want to disconnect with serene lakes, native wildlife and greenery making up your surroundings.
Tick off Thean Hou Temple
This six-tiered Buddhist temple is a sight to behold! And each level is just as beautiful as the next. Adored for its stunning pop of colour as well as its fantastic choice of vantage points, you could easily spend a whole afternoon here. Make sure you don’t miss the Grand Prayer Hall for a traditional fortune reading, or visit at night to watch a sea of red lanterns light up the sky.
Discover Jalan Alor, one flavour at a time
Jalan Alor is Kuala Lumpur’s ultimate foodie experience. This busy street is lined with stalls selling everything from tasty satays drenched in peanut sauce to char kway teow ( a flat noodle stir fry) and Malaysia's national dish, nasi lemak.
