“Treat yourself to The Amala”

I went to Bali for work and added a few days for myself and wanted somewhere relaxing to stay and a change of scene from the work hotel and locati. So when I came across the Amala on social media I was sure I had found the place. I had read the reviews on here and although the majority were overwhelmingly positive, the most recent one made me nervous that perhaps it wouldn't live up to the images I'd seen...I'm pleased to say that it did so and more. It's a lovely establishment and ideal for relaxation. It has everything you need, a lovely home from home. Ok, are there any things that could be better? In my opinion, like any such establishment, wear and tear does occur faster and there are some signs that could use some attention, but nothing that detracts from the experience, unless you expect everything to be pristine. Better hanging space in the wardrobe, rail for the hand towels in the bathroom, easier access to the WiFi code, honestly, that is all I can think of and being really picky. Back to the good stuff, which is the vast majority of things. The best thing about The Amala are the wonderful staff and service, they really look after you and go above and beyond. For example, I went on a day trip and got badly bitten by mosquitoes (the hotel spray daily and set up the nets, so not an issue I encountered there). I asked the young lady who delivered my room service in the evening if they knew where I could get antihistamines and they said they would speak with reception. Within mins, reception contacted me and in less than 30 mins someone had been to the pharmacy and tablets and cream delivered to my room! I would highly recommend the spa treatments too, I had the detox ritual which was absolute bliss. From the villa to the grounds, food to treatments, I can't recommend The Amala enough, a huge thank you to Eka and the Amala team for a wonderful stay. The transfer service is also another plus, so go ahead and treat yourself. P.S. yes, some traffic noise can de head at times, unless you live in the middle of nowhere, it'll just be background noise, nothing major - at least to me.

“Return to the Hidden Oasis in Seminyak - The Amala”

We arrived at The Amala and WOW it was great to be back! Our driver had welcomed us at the busy Denpasar Airport and with his excellent and patient driving skills navigated his way out of the throng of vehicles (with so many motorbikes) until we arrived at The Amala. We were taken straight to our Villa - everything was organised, as was a delicious welcome drink and cold towels to cool us down. We had the same 2 bedroom Villa again with the huge pool, enclosed garden, spacious undercover outdoor lounge/dining area - just as we remembered it. We were relaxed already. As mentioned in previous reviews The Amala is a friendly, well organised and efficient Boutique Resort. Housekeeping maintain the rooms with daily cleaning, late afternoon turndown service to set up the bed canopy and mosquito coils. All the gardens and pools are kept clean and tidy. The Bamboo (main restaurant) for breakfasts and dinners are still amazing : all delicious and beautifully presented with the wait staff ready and happy to help. Thank you to Adi, Evi, Manik, Pandhu, Toni and Eki for looking after us so well. Your great service and wonderful smiles made for a delightful experience. The Tula Wellness Spa was just as fantastic as before, very relaxing and therapeutic with a calming ambience. Ana and Tari/Ari were our masseuses with their great technique, and amazing ability to seek out those nasty sore spots and make you feel so relaxed afterwards - utterly superb! Thank you Eka, Amala's Resort Manager, for another delightful holiday in your fabulous resort. We can certainly recommend this lovely "Oasis" in Seminyak.
