During your stay in Kalamaki, make sure you pay a visit to the nearby seaside village of Argassi. Just ten minutes away by car, it's the perfect place to spend the day exploring the sights and relaxing on the beach.

Arriving in Argassi, you'll be spoiled for choice of things to do. If you've got children, they'll love riding on the tourist train, while older kids will enjoy a round of mini golf or a boat tour along the coast. While you're in the village, make sure you spend some time appreciating the beautiful scenery, with the lush peaks of Mount Skopos in the distance.

If you're interested in culture and history, take the three mile walk up to the Monastery of Panagia Skopiotissa. It's a challenging hike, so make sure you bring plenty of water and snacks. When you reach the monastery, you'll be treated to breathtaking views across the village and out to sea.

After exploring the village, spend some time unwinding on Argassi Beach. Go snorkelling in the crystal clear waters, try out some water sports, or simply lie back with a good book as you enjoy the warm Greek sunshine. When you feel hungry, there are plenty of local restaurants to choose from, all serving up delicious Greek food. You may even get the chance to try traditional plate smashing!

Nightlife in the village centres around a few bars, with a lively yet friendly atmosphere. After your visit to Argassi, take the ten minute drive or the scenic coastal walk to the island's capital, Zante Town, where you can explore the shops, museums and churches.
