Mayia Exclusive Resort is an Adult Only 5 star hotel set on Rhodes’ southeast coast. It boasts a private beach area, complete with Balinese beds and a bar. Outside there’s two heated swimming pools. Back inside at the spa you’ll find a sauna, Turkish bath, whirlpool and an indoor heated pool. When it’s time to eat, take your pick from nine restaurants and food corners.

The main Waterfront restaurant offers a variety of Mediterranean favourites for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Between midday and 5pm there is a further self-service buffet option by the pool. Also in the vicinity there’s Street Food Corner and Healthy Bits, both offering delicious savoury light bites. For something sweeter, head to Canela for an ice cream or a slice of gateau. It's open from 11am to 11pm. There’s also a cafe where you’ll be drawn in by the aroma of the roasted coffee and then tempted by the snacks.

For a more formal dinner you may choose to reserve a table at one of the three a la cartes. At Thymari the menu consists of authentic Greek recipes, made from local seasonal ingredients. Al Dente serves pasta, pizza, salads and other Italian favourites. Over at Wasabi you can relish Far East fusion cuisine.

Mayia Exclusive Resort has a selection of five bars, including poolside and beach options. How about an evening in the Champagne Bar (open until 1am), sipping bubbly as the pianist plays? Alternatively, party away at the nightclub (it’s open until 2am).

During the day you can choose from a diverse range of activities including cooking lessons, cocktail making classes, yoga, Pilates and aqua aerobics. Alternatively, work out at your own pace in the gym. To take it easy you can select a book from the library or treat yourself to a new hair do.

Deluxe rooms are a generous 30m2 and feature a balcony, minibar (restocked daily), pillow menu, 43” TV, Nespresso® machine and a safe. In the bathroom you’ll find both a bath and shower, as well as a double sink. You’ll also benefit from 24 hour room service. Junior Suites are located in the annex and boast extra space and a second TV.

The hotel is next to the watersports centre on Kiotari Beach. It offers activities such as banana boating, canoeing, jet skiing and windsurfing. If you’re feeling fit and prefer to stay dry, you can make a journey 15km north and climb to the summit of Lindos Acropolis. Here, you can view the remains of temples from the 4th century BC.

As you’re just 53km from the Old Town of Rhodes, you shouldn’t miss out on the opportunity to see this UNESCO World Heritage Site. There’s the remains of castles, temples and fortifications. At the Palace of The Grand Master of The Knights you can view numerous restored mosaics, including one dated from the 2nd Century BC. On the way back you may choose to stop off at Kalithea Springs, where sightseeing and relaxation can be combined. Admire the beauty of the restored spa buildings, originally built by the Italians in 1928. For those interested in history, there’s an exhibition detailing bygone times. While for those interested in relaxing there’s sunbeds and ice-cold drinks.
