Things to do
Kardamena is the nightlife hotspot in Kos and with its lengthy, golden sand beach and lines of bars, it’s the ideal place for groups of friends to really let go and have fun. The resort is great for all night partying but there’s also lots of things to do during the day. With warm, clear water, snorkelling and diving are exciting activities for the whole family. You can also try windsurfing or head out to sea on a boat trip. History buffs can learn more about the Kardamenas history at the Folklore Museum.
Tavernas and beach bars will become your second home during your holiday and you’ll soon see why. With the freshest Greek seafood and classic dishes like gyros and fries, this cuisine is perfect for recuperation after a wild night out.
Fun-filled watersports
There are lots of ways to enjoy the warm sea waters, whether you want to explore the depths on a diving trip, stay at sea level with some jetskiing, or take to the skies on an exciting parasailing trip. With crystal clear water and colourful marine life, Kardamena is ideal for trying out new watersports, as well as swimming and snorkelling at the beach.
Beautiful beach
There’s a lovely, long sweep of golden sand that stretches along Kardamena’s coastline, where you can easily spend long days lounging around in the sun. You’ll find all the amenities you need along the beach, whether you’re after some lunch, or a few cold beers to start off your evening out nice and early. The watersports companies operate from the beach, so you never really need to leave the sands.
Great nightlife
If you do feel like exploring, there are plenty of ways to spend your time. From interesting museums to day trips to other islands, you won’t be short of things to do. Kos Town is around half an hour’s drive away if you want to visit the island’s capital, but make sure you get back to Kardamena in time for the evening. The resort is the nightlife capital of Kos, and has a fantastic array of lively bars and late night clubs.

By scooter: Rental scooters are a fun way to explore the town at your own leisure. There are several hire companies in the area that can offer you a competitive rate.
By bus: Local buses run regularly to Kos Town and the airport. You can purchase your tickets once you’re onboard.
By taxi: If you’re heading a little further out, or you’re planning to travel at night, local taxis are a safe and comfortable way to travel.
Carnival: At the start of Lent each year, Kardamena puts on a huge carnival. Watch locals parade throughout the town in costumes, and join in with the lively dancing and feasting. One of the biggest events of the year, carnival is not to be missed.
Wine Festival: Sample all kinds of wine at the Mastichari wine festival in August each year. Just a short distance from the resort, this traditional and cultural festival has lots of music, dancing and, of course, wine.
Hippokrateia Festival: Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, was born in Kos in 460 BC and each year Kos celebrates with a cultural festival. Featuring concerts, performances. workshops, traditional dancing and children’s activities, this is a great experience in July and August.
Temperature: 10-26 (°C) over the year
Visit during the summer for glorious highs of 29°C and up to 13 hours of sunshine a day. The sea temperature over July and August is a wonderful 25°C, and only a little cooler in June and September. Spring and autumn are great times to come if you want a more relaxing holiday with fewer crowds and more comfortable temperatures in the mid-teens. Winter is the wettest season, but it’s still mild at this time, with temperatures rarely dropping below 10°C throughout the season.
