Whether you want a fun-filled beach getaway or a romp through the hills, this Greek island retreat has plenty to offer everyone. When the sun goes down, laid-back family-run tavernas on the waterfront are the perfect place to unwind with a drink in hand. As well as authentic Greek cuisine, you’ll also enjoy a plate of traditional Greek entertainment in this part of town. Holidays here offer the best way to relax, unwind, and experience the mellower side of Corfu.
Things to do
Sandy shores and warm waters await in this island resort. But Roda holidays will take you far beyond the beach. There’s so much spectacular countryside to see; you can head up to the hills to see incredible views across the sparking Mediterranean (by foot or on horseback, it’s up to you). You’ll discover family-friendly adventures over at the local waterpark, which is one of the best on the island. When you get back, dinner and drinks on the waterfront are in order, while the sun sets.
Relaxing on the beach
Roda has a long and golden beach, which is situated alongside the village and is perfect for families and couples alike. It’s perfect if you enjoy a nice stroll in the sun, but like to stay in walking distance of bars and restaurants for when you want a delicious meal or refreshing drink.
Great day trips
Outside of Roda ypu’ll find some great sights and beautiful scenery to explore. With a large choice of different boat tours, you can take a day trip and discover somewhere else new and exciting. Or if you prefer, somewhere else to just sit back and relax.
Try scuba diving
If you like to do something active and exciting on your holiday, then you might want to pay a visit to the scuba diving centre in Roda. Get trained up and ready to dive with some qualified instructors and enjoy the beautiful colours and marine life under the blue Ionian Sea.
Evening cuisine
With a fun and varied nightlife, there’s something for everyone after the sun goes down in Roda. There are lots of restaurants catering to all kinds of taste buds, from Chinese food to classic English dishes, everyone will be in for a treat. But with so much traditional Greek food available, you’ll be wanting to get fully immersed in the local culture and sample the delicious, traditional delicacies.
Make a splash at a waterpark
If beaches aren’t your thing, but you still enjoy some water based excitement, you’ll just love the waterparks that can easily be accessed from Roda. Perfect for families, parents can sit back and relax while the kids (and any big kids) enjoy the many slides on offer. Sidari Waterpark is one option and the Aqualand Resort Waterpark is another, with relaxing massages to enjoy and boutiques to explore, as well as the slides.

By bike: Compact and flat, you’ll love exploring the town on two wheels. There are lots of companies offering cycle hire at good prices.
By bus: A bus service runs along Corfu’s northern coast, linking the village with nearby resorts like Sidari and Kassiopi. They’re a cheap and reliable option for daytrips.
By taxi: You won’t have any trouble getting a taxi; just find a taxi rank or book in advance. They’re a convenient choice for airport transfers and you’ll always be able to find one at Corfu Airport.
By moped: Corfu’s scooter and moped hire centres are in every town and village, so if you fancy buzzing around the island with the wind in your hair, you can. Make sure your scooter hire includes a crash helmet, though.
Carnival: Carnival is celebrated in towns and cities across Corfu, usually taking place over a week in February or March. You’ll find the main events in Corfu Town, the island capital, featuring colourful parades and bright costumes amid a party atmosphere. Plus, there’s lots of local food and wine to sink your teeth into.
Wine festival: About 20 minutes away by bus is Kassiopi, a town known for its annual wine festival (September). Held on the picturesque harbour, you won’t need any excuse to sample the local wine, or tuck into tasty grilled souvlaki!

Best time to visit: If you want warm (but not boiling hot) beach weather, book your Roda holidays for early summer.
The weather here is typical of Corfu’s Mediterranean climate; you can expect long, warm summers, with welcome sea breezes that make the summer more comfortable than in mainland Greece. The mercury lingers in the mid to late-20s between June and September, creeping up higher in July and August. Autumn tends to be cooler, and winters on Corfu can be wet and a little cold. Things warm back up again in March and into April, making it perfect for an early spring break.
