Athens’ Roman Agora

This historic Roman Agora (marketplace) was constructed in the 1st century BC. As you wander through the well-preserved ruins, you'll discover remnants of grand colonnades, temples and statues, all bearing witness to the vibrant commercial and civic life of the past. Don’t miss the iconic Tower of the Winds, a stunning ancient clocktower and weather vane that has survived the test of time. Some claim it was the world's first meteorological station.

The entrance to the Roman Agora is just 250m from Monastiraki Metro station.
