Czech Republic Currency

The Czech koruna (CZK or Kč) is the official currency of the Czech Republic. Banknotes come in denominations of 100, 200, 500, 1,000, 2,000 and 5,000 CZK, while coins have values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 CZK.

Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in many restaurants, shops and hotels throughout the Czech Republic. In Prague, local transport has moved to a contactless-only payment system. Although, some small businesses and Christmas Market traders operate on a cash-only basis. ATMs are readily available in the larger towns and cities, but may be harder to find in more rural areas, so carrying some cash is recommended if you're venturing off the beaten path.
