Located in the popular resort of Playa de las Americas, this hotel boasts over 500 air conditioned rooms, just metres from the sandy beach. One of the two outdoor pools is heated in winter, as is the separate area that the kids can splash around in. The little ones (aged 4-11) can also join Daisy Club, which runs during the school summer and Christmas holidays. This makes H10 Las Palmeras an ideal choice whether you’re looking for summer sunshine or prefer to spend New Year’s Eve walking around in shorts.
You won’t even need to leave the hotel to find delicious food to eat. Garoé is the buffet restaurant boasting a boulangerie and show cooking. For dinner you might choose to make a reservation at one of the three a la carte restaurants. Sakura Teppanyaki dishes up pan-Asian cuisine, your favourite Italian dishes are served at Specchio Magico, while La Ballena (also open for lunch) offers a varied menu including fish and meat dishes. And if that wasn’t enough there’s La Choza, a poolside bar and restaurant, plus the irresistible aromas from cappuccinos and freshly baked cakes at Mike’s Coffee.
If you’re just after a drink, there are three further bars. Imagine is the go-to place for live music and entertainment, while for a quieter affair there’s the cosy Big Ben and another option in the lobby. If you choose All Inclusive, international brand drinks and cocktails are included as part of your perks. You’ll also get two a la carte dinners thrown in on stays of seven nights or more. (Please note Sakura Teppanyaki Restaurant only admits guests over 8years old). And if that wasn’t enough, you’ll also get one hour on the tennis courts included.
Standard rooms include a double bed or two singles and you can upgrade for a breathtaking view of the Atlantic. The Family option has two bedrooms and a separate sofa bed in the lounge area, perfect for groups of up to five people. If you opt for Privilege, you can enjoy fresh espressos 24/7, thanks to the Nespresso® machine. Not only that, your Privilege status means you also get a pillow menu, an extra comfy pillow-top mattress, bathrobes, slippers and pool towels. Plus Privilege rooms are cleaned twice a day, a dream if you have kids who like to make a mess!
The little ones will relish a day trip to the nearby Thai-themed Siam Park, full of slides, rides, a water market and a lazy river. And while you’re in Tenerife you can’t miss Mount Teide - literally, as it has a 3,750m summit. If you choose to explore it you’ll find Paisaje Lunar, a structure that looks like it belongs on the moon but it was in fact created by volcanic activity. The mountain is one of the best places in the world for stargazing, so if your child is interested in the night sky they'll probably pester you to allow them to stay up late and go there.
