Holidays to France and Italy have surged following the launch of the latest season of Emily in Paris, as Brits look to recreate the show’s glamorous European backdrops for themselves.

New booking data from Thomas Cook reveals a sharp rise in demand for both destinations following the Netflix series’ return, with December bookings to France up a staggering 333% year-on-year and Italy increasing by 89%, compared with the same period last year.

The show follows American marketing executive Emily Cooper as she navigates work, love and life in Europe. While the series is rooted in France, where Emily relocates for a new role, later storylines see her travelling to Italy as her career expands, showcasing the country’s food, fashion and lifestyle to millions of viewers worldwide.

The show has become synonymous with escapism, blending European culture, sunshine and style.

Nicholas Smith, Holidays Digital Director at Thomas Cook, said:

"TV shows have the ability to influence travel choices, and Emily in Paris is no exception. Each new season shines a spotlight on iconic European destinations, and we’re seeing that translate directly into increased demand for holidays to both France and Italy.”
