Egypt and Morocco bookings more than doubled, while 38% of all holidays were all-inclusive

Andrzej Kozlowski, Chief Executive Officer at eSky Group, parent company of Thomas Cook, said:

“Q1 2026 is a significant milestone in Thomas Cook’s next chapter and a clear sign that customers are responding strongly to a more modern, flexible and digitally-led holiday booking experience.”

Thomas Cook has delivered its strongest first-quarter performance since relaunching as an online travel agency, with total transaction value (TTV) surpassing £50 million in Q1 FY26 - up 39% year on year.

Alongside TTV growth, the business also recorded a 35% year-on-year increase in revenue, underlining the continued momentum behind Thomas Cook’s digital transformation and growing relevance among UK holidaymakers.

The milestone quarter was fuelled by renewed brand investment, a stronger digital booking journey and expanded offer, with January bookings during peaks up 78% year on year. The iconic Thomas Cook name returned to TV advertising over the 2025 festive period to inspire holidaymakers during the key booking window.

The Canary Islands, Mainland Spain and Greece remained firm favourites among Thomas Cook customers, while emerging sunshine hotspots such as Egypt and Morocco both saw year-on-year growth of more than 100% during the period.

Additional customer booking trends also point to demand for value-led travel, with 38% of all bookings made on an all-inclusive basis, followed by 33% on a bed and breakfast basis.

Andrzej Kozlowski added:

“We’ve still got a long way to go, but the momentum we are seeing across brand awareness, customer demand and product innovation gives us real confidence for the year ahead - for Thomas Cook and the whole eSky Group.”

The business has also continued to invest in innovation and AI, recently launching a new app within ChatGPT that helps customers discover package holidays through natural-language prompts, supporting them in finding the right getaway faster and more intuitively.

Customers booking with Thomas Cook can choose from over 20,000 hotels across 72 destinations throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, and enjoy flexible travel options with more than 190 airline partners. All package holidays are ATOL protected, giving customers peace of mind and enhanced financial security, as well as the reassurance of ABTA's Code of Conduct.
