New website filter helps customers easily find hotels with on-site tennis courts
342 properties currently available to book
Tennis court facilities available across Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean and beyond
Package holidays from £1,336 per person
As excitement builds ahead of this summer’s Wimbledon Championships, online travel agency Thomas Cook has launched a new hotel facilities filter across its website, making it easier for holidaymakers to find properties with on-site courts and sporting amenities.
With Wimbledon set to return to southwest London this summer, the tournament is expected to once again capture the attention of millions of viewers and inspire many holidaymakers to dust off their rackets and take to the court themselves.
Interest is already building ahead of the tournament, with the term ‘Wimbledon’ searched more than 464,000 times on Google during May alone here in the UK, highlighting growing excitement among fans.
The feature comes as a way of giving holidaymakers an easier opportunity to combine time in the sun with keeping up hobbies and interests while abroad, whether practising their serve or simply enjoying a game with friends and family.
Thomas Cook currently offers 342 properties with tennis facilities spanning Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, North America and the Caribbean, South Asia and West Africa.
Specific destinations include Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, Portugal and Spain, alongside Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Sri Lanka and Cape Verde.
Standouts include the 4* Rafa Nadal Residence in Majorca, Spain, which gives holidaymakers the opportunity to stay within the world-famous Rafa Nadal Academy complex, complete with elite-level training facilities inspired by the Grand Slam champion himself. Elsewhere, the 5* Nana Golden Beach in Crete, Greece features an extensive sports and wellness offering alongside multiple on-site tennis courts overlooking the Mediterranean coastline, while the luxurious 5* Gloria Serenity Resort in Antalya, Turkey offers guests access to professional-standard courts within one of the country’s leading sports tourism destinations.
Nicholas Smith, Dynamic Packages Director at eSky Group, parent company of Thomas Cook, said:
“Every year Wimbledon captures the attention of millions and inspires people to pick up a racket themselves. Whether customers are seasoned players or looking to keep up their game while abroad this summer, we wanted to make it easier to find holidays that suit them.
“Travel is increasingly about matching trips to personal interests and hobbies, and this new filter allows holidaymakers to quickly discover hotels where our customers can make the most of their getaway.”
