    Lagos weather January

What’s the weather like in Lagos in January?

January is one of the coldest times to visit Lagos but thanks to its location in southern Portugal, the town still enjoys plenty of sunshine throughout the month.

    Geographical influences

Lagos weather in January is mild during the day with colder temperatures at night. It can be very windy at times with cool breezes swooping in from the Atlantic and the north. That won’t get in the way of your holiday though because Lagos experiences a lot of pleasant sunshine all year round. The nearby cliffs give the region some shelter from the rain, but you should still prepare for surprise downpours that are more common during winter.

It can get quite cold at night with an average low of 6°C, so make sure to bring a jacket before you head out in the evening. During the day, the weather improves to highs of 16°C, which is mild and great for exploring the town’s ancient architecture and museums. Each day has nine hours of sunshine and an average humidity of 72%. The average monthly rainfall is around 30mm with the wind reaching speeds up to 11mph.
