What’s the weather like in Venice in August?
Venice enjoys warm, humid weather in the summer with very high temperatures and just a few light showers spread over the month. August is a popular time to visit Venice and UV rays are strong, so make sure to wear high factor sun cream and stay out of the sun from 12pm to 3pm.
Geographical influences
Located on the northeast coast of Italy, Venice is often known as the capital of the Veneto region. With no roads and just a maze of canals lined with beautiful buildings and Renaissance palaces, it’s easy to see why Venice is so popular in the summer. Venice weather in August is generally hot, sunny and quite dry compared to the winter. There are less cloudy days and the skies are clear for most of the month. Temperatures begin to cool slightly towards the end of the month as the peak of summer comes to an end, but it remains very warm.

Average temperatures range from lows of 17°C up to 27°C around midday. You’ll have 14 hours of lovely sunshine per day, which is plenty of time to enjoy your time in Venice and explore all the historical buildings around the city. The weather is mildly humid at around 51% but can rise to 89% towards the middle of the month. The average sea temperature is 26°C, which is perfect for windsurfing or enjoying a romantic boat trip along the canal.
