    Borovets weather January

What's the weather like in Borovets in January?

Located on the northern slopes of the Rila mountains, Borovets is Bulgaria’s oldest ski resort. Found in the country’s Sofia Province, the weather’s freezing cold over winter, making January perfect for enjoying the area’s snow sports. Whether you’re skiing or snowboarding down the slopes, or spending the evening out in the resort, you’ll need plenty of warm clothes at this time of year. Make sure you prepare for the cold, and pack a thick winter coat, along with a hat, scarf and gloves.

In January, the average temperature in Borovets reaches a maximum of -2ºC in the warmest part of the day. With lows of -8ºC, you’ll need lots of thick layers to protect yourself from the icy weather. Around 60mm of rain’s expected during the month, spread across ten wet days. Although you might see the odd shower, there’s a good chance of sunshine throughout the month, perfect for soaking up the mountain views as you explore the slopes.
