Iberostar’s Star Camp programme allows children to join one of three different programmes, based on their age. At Las Dalias some of the activities on offer include capture the flag, zombie apocalypse and large scale art. The Danae restaurant offers themed evening meals and show cooking. One night you could be sampling Mexican enchiladas, the next it could be Asian beef teppanyaki and then the local Canarian stew. Between meals light bites are available at the poolside snack bar. After dinner choose whether you devour a digestif at Venus, where there’s live music or at the sports bar. Both options remain open until half past midnight.

The hotel’s gym provides the ideal place to work out. If you prefer competitive sports there’s a squash court (additional charge), pool and darts. Alternatively, meet like-minded people by joining a pilates, step aerobics or aqua gym class Like to be adventurous? There’s options for watersports nearby. Maybe feel the wind in your hair while windsurfing.

While there is plenty to do at the resort you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to go up the island’s biggest attraction - Mount Teide.
